I will be packing the light saber this weekend. Tauntauns make great bivy sacks, too bad you can only use them once.

Nice writing Matt. I could totally visualize the climb.

I have the chernobyl and its a great pack. Light weight, durable and funtional. I would buy another one. Love the tool tubes, and gear loops on the hip belt.

jaee, Tex is as strong as Ox and hikes and climbs faster than anyone I climb with. If he put his mind to it he could hammer your ass into the ground, skis or not. Who cares anyway, each to his own.

I would look at downclimbing and not weighting the anchor if on easy terrain. Down aid climbing is always a good option if you can get pro. Other than that I would lower an equalized anchor.

Need partner for this weekend. Ideas include cragging in Leavenworth. Bashing ice on Raineer or Baker. Alpine Ice. Open to other suggestions or ideas. Will drive if you help with gas. Send a PM or E-mail.

Stay on the main HWYs which are not that bad. Bring a copy the title of your car or they will not give permit to go into the interior. Avoid staying in border towns for very long, and consider buying the extra ins. And don't drink the water, drink

Did both routes this Summer in a day and even added the Beckey Route at the end of the day for more fun.

It was a good weekend. Cragged at Midnight Rock on Saturday with Jens and Texplorer. Sunday: Texplorer and mader our way up Outer Space at Warp Speed. Nice to put some faces to the Avatars.

Join the KTK. I hear that initiations will be going on this weekend with lots of hazing activities such as soloing classic crack drunk at night, and the like. Should be fun

I used to run between 70-100 miles per week. I now bike about 90 a week. My knees feel much better, but I am not even close to same fitness level I used to be in. You're just getting old, Highlander.I know, aging sucks!
