Nice Timmy! The soundtrack was very moving.

Had a good day climbing at index today, and decided it was not enough. If anybody wants to get out for some climbing Sunday at Index send a PM/email or give me a call @ 206-767-3371.

My opinion is to leave it along. If your only looking at taking a small whip, then whats the need for a chicken bolt. The route will be more memorable with out the bolt and will totaly change the nature of the climb.

Looks like it could be dry Saturday at Index. If anybody wants to do some cragging send me a pm.

Don't you mean angling downward towards the point of force. Old skool was angling upward.

Buy an avalung and get an avy poodle.

Most people know who Cpt. Caveman is.

Thats what I thought. At any rate I do not plan on going into the MRNP in the future. There are a lot of better peaks to climb without having to pay, and deal with the crowds, and all the other beuracratic bull shit that goes with climbing Raineer.

I heard a rumor that they were possibly going to make climbers ride the bus into the park to save parking space for more Tourons. This is all hearsay of course.

Do lots lie backing and underclinging to prepare, the route is burley, but fun

Spent 3 days cragging in squamish. The weather was awsome and the rock was dry. Climbed alot of the local classics, and watched Texplorer take 25 ft whipper onto a yellow alien on some 11b desperate. Fun stuff.

Check telemetry data for the last week to see the anount of snow that could be around. Snow level is probably around 5,500-6,000ft. Ice is there, but may be covered with snow.

In no particular order: 1) NR of Stuart 2) NF of Shuksan (perfect conditions) 3) S. Face of Prussik 4) Grand Wall (Squamish) 5)NEWS NW Corner, NW Face and Beckey route in a day Failures: *Slesse (off route in fog and climbed a new line instead of the classic line we sought) *taking a fall on the decent of Cutthroat(down climbing steep icy snow in sneakers with a stick, and crashing into rocks below)

How often is this updated? Does not seem real useful for checking current weather. It use to be daily back in the spring and summer. Lately it been every few days or once a week.

I like my Black Diamond flick lock poles (I forgot which model, but they are 3 piece). Highly adjustable and durable thus far.

I am sitting at work, thinking of the next Alpine suffer-fest. What are some of your favorite and most memorable winter alpine climbs?

If its raining in L'town chances are its raining in the Enchantments or snowing at the higher elevation. Stay away thats were I will be this weekend.

I love my stubai allumniums, they even fit on my running shoes. I like my M10's for going vertical. BD Sabertooth looks like it might be a good workhorse crampon. You will soon find out that you will want a light crampon for the slogs, and an aggressive crampon for ice climbing.
