  3. I'm sure this has already been linked somewhere here, but here is is again, courtesy of mattp.
  4. No, that would be Al Gore.
  5. That dude kicking it in the side and it keeping itself upright makes me think the next iteration would respond by pouncing on the kickee. In other news, this DARPA organization gives me major creeps when I think about all the shit they've developed (and money wasted) since 1958.
  6. I'm guessing a Crossman .22 caliber pellet gun.

  11. The first bit of that trail goes through some dense foliage and is a narrow climbers trail. The dense bit doesn't last too long. If you think you were on a trail, that was probably it.
  12. Vesper and Sperry. Vesper is a walk up and Sperry (W ridge) is more of a scramble. Del Campo and Gothic Peak also seem to fit the bill, as does Dragontail and Colchuck. Each of these pairs can easily be a two summit day.
  13. Your question would get more (and probably better) response if you asked it at NWHikers.net

    Must Have Gear

You gotta have one of these...
  15. Inadvertently combining the last two pitches of Centerfold at Index. The last bit of 10a at the top was protected by stacking nuts from the remnants of my very depleted rack.
  16. From A TTips.com TR...
  17. Fred's Darrington and Index Guide (1976) sez Bob Crawford and Pat Cruver did the FA in September of 1975. Clint Cummins also credits them, but ascribes the possibility to Boving, as well.
  18. I wonder if he got the two minute warning...
  19. I was climbing the west face crack on the first sea stack at Patrick's Point State Park in N CA. This crack is only accessible at low tide and the belayer stands on sloping, barnacle covered rocks right above crashing waves. I was about 20-25 feet off the deck and a body length above my only piece, an old school #4 BD (Chouinard) wired stopper when my left foot and hand let loose at the same time. I barn-doored off and ended up with a ripped tip on the middle finger of my right hand. My partner finished the route.
  20. I figure someone on here would like this .
  21. This TR from the end of May might give you some idea. (Try clicking on one of the pictures and then double clicking...)
  22. More recent beta...
