glassgowkiss Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 crack gloves They are one of the best products I recently used. Quote
boadman Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 how do they fit? I have big palms, roughly 4.5" wide x 5" long. I've always been afraid to order them online without trying them on first. Quote
genepires Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 and face the ridicule from folks in squish? I get crap for wearing tape mitts. I got crap from folks in bellingham for wearing the original crack mitts way back when. Â stranger's opinions matter to my weak personal ego. Â Quote

I dare anyone to try and jam on White Feather pitch without taping. It really helps to get solid jams, particularly if the crack is wet inside. A lot of guys in Squamish are using them. But you have to get this particular model, as the rest of them simply suck. Quote
markwebster Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Good to know they are back on the market, they were very hard to find for a while. Â hand jammies brand are ok(I've had two pair), but they rip fast. Â These Ocun have a much better reputation. I've seen some very good climbers wearing them. Â Â Quote
JDCH Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Does anyone know if any of our local seattle gear shops are stocking these? I'd like to try them on before buying... Â Quote
Dave A. Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I used a friends pair on Saturday. They were comfortable, far nicer than any others I've seen. I spent an hour on the internet when I got home and couldn't find any anywhere. This is great timing. Quote
JasonG Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I just emailed Ocun to see if they have a size chart for these. I've heard they are pretty good as well and am looking to buy a pair. Thanks for the link! Quote
Dave A. Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I usually take med. or large depending on the glove, the large ocuns fit perfectly. Quote
G-spotter Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 They may help your hands but they leave your wrists permanently limp  Quote
JasonG Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I was hoping this thread would devolve into a Super Taco battle cage match. Quote
Drederek Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I was hoping this thread would devolve into a Super Taco battle cage match. Perhaps if you pointed out that you can wear them Velcro side out? Quote
JasonG Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Ocun CS is top notch. Here is the sizing chart for those who desire smooth skin and limp wrists: Â Quote
montypiton Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 big hands -- mine are ENORMOUS -- wide and thick with short fingers so that most gloves that I can find big enough to pull on usually have quarter-to-half-inch too much length in finger. in most black diamond models, the largest size is not big enough. I've used xl ocun mitts for three years now. they're cushie, thin enough to feel the rodck a little; I still prefer tape for more sensitivity in some jams -- feel like i lose just a bit of feel in these even as thin as the padding is. still - for most work, and especially LONG stretches (multiple days of multiple pitch jamming) hard to beat Quote
Newfield Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 blicard.com is carrying Ocun gloves. I think their supply is pretty limited though. Quote
rat Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 you professionals are so needy: dave cheesmond's north twin crack gloves. photo by barry blanchard during this insignificant little jaunt http://www.barryblanchard.ca/northtwin Quote
telemarker Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Crack Gloves should be acquired over a period of years of scar tissue on back of your hands. Start on Classic Crack your first year to get a good base, then work your way through other sharp classics like Deb's Crack, Royal Flush, etc... After ~10 years you'll have all the skin protection you'll ever need without the limp wrist. Â Quote
MrGecko Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I have a pair for sale here and will be coming up to Seattle this weekend if interested and you can try them out for cheap  http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1125670/Gear_Closet_Clean_Out#Post1125670     Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Thanks for posting, I got mine just in time to wear them on the Grand Wall in Squamish this week. I tried on the Hand Jammies once and didn't like them but I borrowed the Ocun's for a pitch last year and liked them better. They sure made the jams on the split pillar much nicer. I just hate wasting so much tape every trip, especially if I only need it for a few pitches. Quote
