pcg
...unconditional love is hard to kill... Unconditional love is something many people take for granted in a dog, but it's a pretty amazing phenomena when you stop to think about it. We are blessed to be recipients of it. I'm very sorry for your loss.

wfinley
Ode to the dog Simon, went to work with me nearly every day of his 13 years. Looks like Simon had a great life. I used to have a dog that looked just like him. A great mutt that I miss like crazy. He wasn't so good in the super puma though. Get a puppy. No one should have to go more than a week in-between dogs.

Sherri
So sorry for your loss, Jason. Saying goodbye is always heartbreaking. As a friend of mine likes to put it: it wouldn't hurt so bad if it wasn't so good. Travel well across that Rainbow Bridge, Simon. You be a good dog and watch over your daddy. He's gonna miss you. sickie
mattp
So sad, Jason. Pets are HUGE. I've had dogs and cats nearly all my life, and visit the grave of our most recent on a regular basis. (He lies beneath the path from the bus stop.) I hope it helps that so many of us here on the interweb are saying good stuff to your relationship with your buddy. I like the pictures of him in the camp chair. I don't think I ever met your pup. Dogs rock. Edited September 1, 2011 by mattp
ScaredSilly
Hey Jason, Sorry that time came. We had to do the same with our pup earlier this summer. Hard day for sure.
Rootsman
Damn, that's tough. My old guy went on Feb 18, 2008. I still think of him often but manage to cry about it less these days. As Bart told Lisa at the burial of Snowball 5, "no kid wants to outlive their pet..." I hope that the passage of time brings you some peace. ivan
george carlin recommended only having tortoises for pets for this very reason...for my part, i try to stick to fish n' snakes, and rename it each new one the same as the last one fond memories are better than tears - i'm sure you'll be right as rain before long good luck.
