ivan Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Sarah Quaylin i thought of this one independently - isn't it fahqing wierd how much she seems the soul mate of quayle? fuck - didn't he actually GET to be vice-president too? Quote
dougd Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 President GHW Bush wasn't a bad guy IMO. I didn't vote for him but I thought he showed real leadership when he raised taxes and in effect committed political suicide. This is the guy everyone voted for, not quayle... Â He made the hard choice. Did the right thing as he saw it and paid the price. Â Gotta respect that. Â d Quote

Aside from the verbal gaffes, I don't see the similarities. Quayle was/is a privileged white boy who more or less never worked a day in his life and went to private schools (hmm. . .sounds more like Shrub).  Palin is salt of the earth, gritty and has a more rural background and--if what she said was true--worked two jobs most of her professional life.  Get out of the city and people like Palin for her "common" roots. I don't think many people related to Quayla at all. Quote
