scottgg Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Ok, so what are ya'll planning for the spring/summer. Don't worry, secret projects need not be included. As for me, I'd like to do: North Face Graybeard East Face Cutthroat Backbone Ridge on Dragontail Stuart Glacier Couloir Complete North Ridge Stuart South Face Prusik Index Peaks Traverse Torment Forbidden Traverse (I think everyone has this on their list) and a healthy link-up of some Snowcreek Wall routes. Good Luck! Quote
olyclimber Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 This is to be the Summer of Crack Love for me. Gimmee crack. Quote
texplorer Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Spring - put up new routes Summer - try not to get burned up, maybe an A4 wall in the valley Quote
layton Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 torment forbidden traverse isn't on my list! I'd like to know what makes this traverse so special? Quote
scottgg Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 the Torment-Forbidden is so popular because: Â -its IV/V, though not super-technical -nice exposure and awsome position in the North Cascades -its feasible as a day trip -Jim Nelson lists it as his favorite climb, and that after 30+ years in the Cascades. -and hype Quote
Figger_Eight Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The blue route at the gym. Hopefully before they take it down Quote
MCash Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Some cool traverses: Â Torment - Forbidden Vienesse - Clarke Ensawkwatch Enchainment Quote
DirtyHarry Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I'd like to know what makes this traverse so special? Â Because ever since this route has become cool, its become one of the Cascade's premier place to booty expensive runners and fancy 'biners. Quote
slaphappy Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 unlike last years frequent encounters, this spring has remained "tick" free... Â - Quote
fenderfour Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 F_ck tick lists. Everytime I make a god-d_mned tick list I don't get a d_mn thing ticked off. Â This summer, I'm gonna climb. Quote
archenemy Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 ut oh, hope you didn't just jinx yourself. Â This summer, I am going to hike rather than just make approaches. The hard part (and my goal) is not to gripe the whole way. Quote
EWolfe Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 More alpine, less cragging. Although cragging early in the year, some new routes at Lost Wall, 11worth trips, a 4-5 day Smith trip in Late April, summer trips to Squam/Index/NC, then get after the big stuff! W00t! Â Quote
willstrickland Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Grayling in the Chena and Delta Clearwater, pike in Minto flats, rainbows in upper Montana and Peter's creeks, kings in the Kenai, chum in the Salcha, and silvers in the Delta Clearwater. Â Then packing all my junk into the Soob and heading south. Quote
G-spotter Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 All the alpine routes I failed on last year. Quote
John Frieh Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Grayling in the Chena and Delta Clearwater, pike in Minto flats, rainbows in upper Montana and Peter's creeks, kings in the Kenai, chum in the Salcha, and silvers in the Delta Clearwater.  No Halibut in Homer? And no I'm not talking about the Salty Dog type  When you headed to leavenworth? Quote

ken4ord Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Fat BBQ on the summit of Lib Bell. Â Yeah damn straight!!!! Plan it around the end of July so that I can make it up there for the bbq. Quote
Johnny_Tuff Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 F-ing Rawhide. I'd rather put my fingers in a shark's mouth. Â It's actually not too bad when the temps are crisp. Once your fingers are numb, you can't tell what the fuck you're holding onto. Quote
scottgg Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Speaking of bootying gear (a la Dirty Harry), I am heading up Triple Couloirs this weekend to free TeleRoss's pitons left on his ski descent! Quote
G-spotter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 We'll bump this thread in October 06 to see how the talk and action equations balanced out. Quote
