Ok, so what are ya'll planning for the spring/summer. Don't worry, secret projects need not be included. As for me, I'd like to do:

North Face Graybeard

East Face Cutthroat

Backbone Ridge on Dragontail

Stuart Glacier Couloir

Complete North Ridge Stuart

South Face Prusik

Index Peaks Traverse

Torment Forbidden Traverse (I think everyone has this on their list)

and a healthy link-up of some Snowcreek Wall routes.

Spring - put up new routes

Summer - try not to get burned up, maybe an A4 wall in the valley

I'd like to know what makes this traverse so special?

the Torment-Forbidden is so popular because:

 

-its IV/V, though not super-technical

-nice exposure and awsome position in the North Cascades

-its feasible as a day trip

-Jim Nelson lists it as his favorite climb, and that after 30+ years in the Cascades.

-and hype

Because ever since this route has become cool, its become one of the Cascade's premier place to booty expensive runners and fancy 'biners.

This summer, I am going to hike rather than just make approaches. The hard part (and my goal) is not to gripe the whole way.

More alpine, less cragging. Although cragging early in the year, some new routes at Lost Wall, 11worth trips, a 4-5 day Smith trip in Late April, summer trips to Squam/Index/NC, then get after the big stuff! W00t!

Then packing all my junk into the Soob and heading south.

It's actually not too bad when the temps are crisp. Once your fingers are numb, you can't tell what the fuck you're holding onto.

Speaking of bootying gear (a la Dirty Harry), I am heading up Triple Couloirs this weekend to free TeleRoss's pitons left on his ski descent!
