Touching The Void, Splitter, Front Range Freaks, Return to Sender.

I don't really get stoked from lowly bouldering but Rampage and Dosage Volume 1 are nice.

Dosage Vol. 1 would rule the planet for its footage of Sharma sending Realization all by itself. Ssssssiiiiiiick. Dosage 2 has some good stuff as well.

The Professionals is a goodie; despite a sorta low percentage of sending, it's chock full of footie of a couple world-class climbers on plenty of ill terrain. Keep a barf bag handy (especially for Francois getting teary-eyed...bleah!).

Lotsa good stuff in Free Hueco! and Rampage, of course.

Avoid, avoid, avoid Inertia. A smattering of OK footage mixed in with a lot of really stupid shit (e.g. Joe Brooks eating a packet of wasabi, and some guy who climbs .13d blowing a fat rope of snot out his nose, and some jiggling tits...that's not all, but it's more than enough), all spliced together with pretty shoddy editing and no real sense of continuity...hey, how about showing people actually doing problems or routes instead of just giving us little pieces of half a boulder problem and then cutting to another problem, and then some footage of your bros fucking off. thumbs_down.gif

I agree with DFA. Dosage 1 is killer due to the FA footage of Sharma. Just think of the raw persistence from Josh Lowell to film EVERY redpoint attempt to make sure he got the actual redpoint. Front Range Freaks is great. And Scary Faces for the great interviews of folks who have whipped on Jules Verne and the footage of the late Cameron Tague working and whipping on spicy trad in Eldorado. And Dan Osman in the Masters series. I guess I like lots of videos.....

Totally agree with that assessment! He did, however, grow up a little with his second effort, Inertia 2. It has more sustained climbing and less other crap, although it still has way too much wasted footage on boxing and other irrelevant junk. But there is a good segment of Randy Leavitt doing a first ascent and some others that are worth watching. You just have to skip through the nonsense rolleyes.gif

Isn't there footage of Iker Pou sending Action Direct; and some Josune footage, too? How's that stuff?

Yeah, they are in there and are pretty decent. The Josune segment is especially good. In his commentary, the director (forgot his name--he has some shots of himself, bouldering) says it was shot by someone else. I think it is better than most of the ones he shot. Both that and the Leavitt segment are quite long and show most of the route being climbed. Maybe he will eventually turn into a respectable film-maker, but he needs to grow up some more and stick with the climbing footage. I don't want to look at someone's snotty nose tongue.gif

Into Thin Air is the bomb!! Anatoli Boukreev is evil! They play the scary music whenever he enters the scene....and Peter Horton has never been better!

Which "into thin air"...the documentary gets decent ratings...the "movie" gets the shaft.

The obvious sarcasm, and the fact that I called out Peter Horton's performance (sarcastically) would mean I am alluding to the movie (sarcastically).

Pssssst....it was a joke!

Oh and that fucking stupid ass idiotic fucking movie about the two christian dudes that go "climb Everest" together.

Fuck I hated that movie. "The Climb" or some stupid shit like that. That was a STINKER. It was on TV for something like a month straight a few years ago on one of the UHF channels, UPN, etc. rolleyes.gif
