JoeMack Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 No, it was some fellow named "philfort" that's to blame: Re: 1.5 inch surface hoar « Reply #1 on: 12/17/05 at 18:39:41 Saw much smaller hoar at Snoq pass today, but it was still present. Hopefully it will rain on it before it snows on it? Link:Turns All Year Jinx Quote
Jake Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 So is this winter gonna be another loser? It started off looking great, and has gone downhill ever since. Where's the damn snow? Are we screwed? The weatherman saying maybe snow next week... I don't want to get my hopes up. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Forecast is looking better starting next Tuesday, with snow levels going down and snow expected. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Its three days before the end of the year, And recent snows have changed gloom to cheer... With more on the way spirits are soaring- For the weather ahead will be anything but boring. After a day of drying, the westerlies arrive, And Friday promises to shift park to drive; Heavy snow, high winds, we'll break but not bend, Just need to get through a brief warming trend. The easterly flow will help near the crest, And will minimize the rain for we feel that's best, As we close out the year and start out 06, The weekend ahead looks snowy and brisk... So enjoy the storms and the ones beyond those, But stay aware of the danger and don't get hosed- Keep checking for clues wherever you go, For it's hard to enjoy if you're under the snow. -From NWAC Quote

Zenolith Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I went up on Wed, the 29th and was skiing knee deep fluff (the snow fell at 3000 ft Tuesday night). It was great and even thought the snow level hase come up again for thu, fri, it is supposed to be back down to 3500, 3000 for this new storm. The warm spell DID stabilize that hoary snow, and we now have a great base (and an ice lens!). It is cooling off fairly slowly with this new batch of weather so I think bonding will be good to the slushy layer. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Supposed to dump all week then start raining below 7000 by the weekend. Sweet. Quote
