olyclimber Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Anyone watching the debate wonder what those two keep writing on their notepads? I bet Cheney is writing "I love gay porn" over and over. Edwards is just keeps on writing "Damn I look good!" and underlining it. Quote
marylou Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I don't know, looks like a pretty rock solid debate to me. They are probably taking notes so they don't miss points on their rebuttals. Edwards does look good though. Quote
cracked Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Edwards is getting served. Cheney is handing him his ass on a platter and he refuses to respond. He goes back to the topics that Cheney already tore apart and keeps repeating the same stupid shit that has already been refuted. Flush the Johns! Quote

Say that twice and click your heels and maybe that will be true. Seems pretty even to me at this point. They both seem to be using the tactic you describe above. Quote

Hey man, don't hate the playa, hate John Kerry. Just my opinion. Quote
BillA Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Man, has cracked been watching the same debate as everyone else? Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I think cracked has established a record on cc.com as a rather intellectually challenged crack-pot, so don't hold it against him. Quote
cracked Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Man, has cracked been watching the same debate as everyone else? No, I think it's a Fox mind-control type thing. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to take my Soma. Quote
Doug Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 So far, IMO, it's pretty even. They are both pretty good. I do notice that Edwards refers back to last Thursday's debate and Cheney seems to be staying off of that one. He did look uncomfortable when the talk turned to his daughter. I think they both handled it pretty well. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 But, much subterfuge occurs; I have to say though that I don't like Edwards' style. It's a bit slimy, and the way he mentioned Cheney's gay daughter: something about it rang a bit weird. he did slam Cheney with Halliburton, I thought, along with the Nelson Mandela comment, among others. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Edwards has also continued to address directly the flip-flop charge, I think negating its efficacy. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 But I like Cheney! Although I disagree with many things he says and believes in.... Quote
Fairweather Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I think that these two men are both more desirable candidates for president than their respective bosses. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 6, 2004 Author Posted October 6, 2004 But I like Cheney! Although I disagree with many things he says and believes in.... Holy shit...are you one of those undecided voters? I thought that was an urban legend! Quote
cracked Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I'm pretty well undecided. But I'm leaning towards Shrub. Fairweather, I agree with you, yet again. Quote
RuMR Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Bolt a republican with a handdrill to a wall in the wilderness approached through a clear cut on a trail made from concrete with sand from iraq... there, now everybody is happy Quote
slothrop Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Doh! I just missed it. To be rebroadcast on KCTS (public TV) at 9pm. Quote
Doug Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I must admit that when Edwards played the gay daughter card, I felt somewhat repulsed, but hey all is fair in politics, love and war. Still, no one won. And the facts and distortions are as present as ever on both sides. Quote
philfort Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I thought Cheney did a better job, even though he's an evil prick. Edwards seemed nervous, and kind of immature, not really VP material. He seemed to miss a lot of chances to refute some of the bullshit Cheney was spewing. Pretty funny when the interviewer asked them not to mention their respective presidential candidates, and Edwards couldn't stop mentioning Kerry! Quote
olyclimber Posted October 6, 2004 Author Posted October 6, 2004 From CNN.com blogger: "Even though they haven't spoken, just looking at them, I have finally realized who they are...Garfield and Nermal. Cheney is Garfield, the grumpy old fat cat who hates Mondays, and Edwards is the lesser known "Nermal," the obnoxiously too-cute, little kitten with long eyelashes that Garfield hates." Quote
Doug Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Ya know, I've gotta admit if I had to make a choice between Edwards or Cheney as VP, I'd lean towards Cheney. That being said, on a scale of 1 to 10: Cheney 8, Edwards 6; Kerry 7, Bush 4. Kerry & Edwards win, 13 to 12. Quote
ScottP Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I think that these two men are both more desirable candidates for president than their respective bosses. MMMHhhmmm... Quote
Squid Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Cheney is smart, but he obviously suckles at the devil's own cock. I wouldn't trust him running a room full of kindergartners, let alone the country. Edwards reminds me of the oldest kid on The Partridge Family. Quote
cj001f Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I think that these two men are both more desirable candidates for president than their respective bosses. I remember thinking the same thing 4 years ago. I'm not so sure on Cheney now. Quote
