catbirdseat Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 The weather was nice. We KNOW you were out climbing. So start typing. Let's see the trip reports. You don't need to chest beat (unless you want to). Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Smith Rock. Fine weather, if perhaps a bit on the hot side. DFA is in flail mode lately and has nothing to boast about. The Mrs. is making good headway on her proj', which will be her hardest send yet when she puts it all together. Next weekend, expect more project progress and hopefully a turnaround in DFA's Fall Slump. Quote

thelawgoddess Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 simul-soloed a slab. climbed a pitch on tr. and watched paco try to will his ass up a smooth wall of granite with no holds on it. Quote
Jim Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Followed my mountain bike buddies up 12 mi of FS road uphill. Followed them down Devil's Gulch, endo-ed twice. Couldn't keep the downhill crazy pace w/o thinking this is going to end badly. Lived. Ended the day with beer and bratwust at Gustav's Quote

chelle Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Hey Dru. PLEASE make your photos a little smaller. Some of us don't have a 20" monitor and having to scroll up/down and sideways gets tiring... Quote
Dru Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 resize your display.... everything looks better when you aren't on 800 by 600 Quote
Paco Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 My weekend went something like this:  Stone Gardens, , , , Von Spanker sighting, , , , gaper aid climbing for the first time at Index and finding a slabby boulder problem that spit me off repeatedly. It's something to go back to though!  All in all  To those with whom I shared the weekend... Thanks all!  My only complaint...f'ing Dick's closing their windows while we were waiting in line. No late night for us. Quote
slothrop Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Ran around in the woods Friday night scaring little kids, belligerent teenagers, and drunken adults at the Haunted Trails fundraiser for my girlfriend's school. Took a header over a log while running back to my hiding place in the dark. Good times!  Saturday: Stone Gardens, then work  Sunday I went climbing at Exit 38 with a bunch of newbies. Lots of fun, except for a couple ridiculous overgraded overbolted 20' climbs. Quote
kurthicks Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 friday night - , Saturday - took a beginner on her first multipitch. Sunday - went dry tooling at the local choss pile. Quote
AlpinistAndrew Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Climbed the West Ridge of N. Twin Sister on Sunday. Great views. Quote

Dru Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 the picture is a bivouac - you-must-pay-20-bucks image so I can link it with image tags but can't post a usable link (if you aren't paid up the link wouldn't work) . am i supposed to resave it to my work computer, shrink it with stupid MS paint, and re upload it just so you don't have to twitch your mouse arm and drag the scroll bar? Quote
slothrop Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I twitch my damn mouse arm enough during the day. Â Just upload it to the photo gallery and link it from there, sucka. Quote
Dru Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 i don't have the file on my work compy to upload, i would have to save it to the computer here first  incidentally i just resized my display to 800 by 600 and now i feel like i'm reading a large print book for the visually impaired! how do you stand it? the snaffle is so big it is scary Quote

specialed Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Attempted Boving route on Dragontail Saturday, via alpine start from trailhead at 5:30. Hiked to base of northwest face of Dragontail to find ice seeping out of most of the cracks in the Boving route and what wasn't encrusted with ice was dripping wet. Considered going for it anyway, then remembered I wasn't that much of a hardman. Went back to the trailhead and drank beer and did 3 pitches in the Icicle. Sunday climbed in the sun at Castle rock and had a good ole time. Quote
