Yeah, I'm not sure how "unique" or "edgy" tatoos are anymore w/ so many people getting them. My body is not adorned w/ any tatoos, piercings, or jewelry. Just the same I kinda like a tat on the small of a woman's back. I like the small of a woman's back just fine w/out the tat, too, so it probably doesn't have so much to do w/ the tat as the woman.

Well I have afew,(13) I got them when I was in my teens and early twentys, back when I lived in so. calif. and rode a H.D. I like to see them on women, it makes them look sexy to me. It is what it is.

This is one of those subjects that shows how culture changes, and how what's appealing to one generation or people in one place is different from others. I fully understand how someone's "likes" are different from mine.

Growing up in a Navy town in the 60s and 70s, I associate tattoos with sailors and cheap porn. 'Course, the world has totally changed and now I'm the geek. Geek_em8.gif

That being said, I once got into a good fistfight on the beach at spring break years ago, backing up an ex-service guy who was taking abuse from a bunch of fratboys about his tattoos. cantfocus.gifhahaha.gif

My biggest beef with styles today is over-use of the razor, if ya know what I mean. hellno3d.gifI like women, not girls.

The ironic thing is tattoos are a total fratboy thing now. I think back in the day they might have been some sign of rebellion or counterculture but now adays I associate them with pretty boys with backwards hats rolling big tired jeep wranglers through college campuses. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, over-use of the razor is no good. I definitely prefer the effort of a nice professional wax. thumbs_up.gifhahaha.gifevils3d.gif

Not in the smallest amount, are Tattoos a frat thing... that though makes my stomach churn, they are a form of life long intent, if you make them... Mine is far from a meaningless mutalation of my body, to help me fit in with the generation of todays prep sociaty... It is in turn a conquest of life and the directon I need to sustain, a constent reminder of how life is afected by both the physcle and spiritaul aspects... It is a map of the trails i've taken and the trails i have yet to step on...

I think it realy depends on how you go about you tattoing. My work has all been original, created just for me. It would be nearly impossible for someone to have the SAME tattoos I have. For my they represent something to me. they are in places on my body, that I can choose to hide or share depending on what I feel. They mark experience and the passage of time for me. I will get more done.

I am not one for peircing.... as a matter of fact I don't wear any jewlery at all right now.

Well, that's good for you, but it doesn't dismiss the fact that they are the latest and greatest trend, particularly so with the frat crowd. rolleyes.gif

I know this character who has HATE tatooed on the four knuckles of his right hand, KILL tatooed on the four knuckes of his left, above which on the back of his hands are smiley faces run through with a saber swords, and "Red in the Head" inscribed in red italics on his forehead, (an accurate description of his hair color and combustible temperment.)

I've always considered being around him like walking around on the Fourth of July, drunk, with a jar of nitro balanced on your head--something I generally try to avoid. However, he recently turned over a kinder, gentler leaf, (of maybe it's the lithium) overwriting HATE and KILL on his knuckles with aces, clubs, diamonds and spades.

You're a bigger loser if you allow pop culture to determine a personal course of action, or in this case non-action. If you do it as a personal statement, who cares what other people are doing? rolleyes.gif

As an employer, I'd pass on hiring women with obvious tattoos or piercings. Hey, it's a free country and I can hire who I want. You youngins' might want to consider your acceptance in the professional field before you plaster shit all over your arms, legs, and face. If you want to sling hash at the local choke and puke, no big deal.

I wasn't baggin on him man, I was just stating a fact. If people want tatoos, by al means get them, I was just pointing out it's a popular choice of frat guys and popular culture these days.

Hell, frat guys drink beer, that doesn't mean I'm not gonna do it too smile.gif

I saw a homemade 'gang me' on a chick at the beach one time in the mid-70s. That was special. cantfocus.gifgrin.gif

All third hand ofcourse, but I know some one who knows a woman that has "Rape" tattooed across her belly and then later met a man that has "GUILTY" tatooed across his belly. She said she felt like they should meet and work out some issues cantfocus.gif

1. Irish coat of arms. As of a few weeks ago my 3 siblings and I have this. The last to get it was my 39 year old sis.

2. Three filled in circles.

The ultimate (reasonable) statement is on the neck above the collar, or on the hands. This says if you don't want to hire me cause of my tattoos than I would have wanted to work for you fuckers anyway.

I would like a neck tat below the ear and a full sleeve on my left arm.
