  1. REI Seattle, 100' west of I-5 REI Alderwood Mall, 20 round trip from I-5 Cascade Crags, Everett. 20 blocks west of I-5.
  2. Consensus reached: Dave Schuldt is a dumbfuck.
  3. Dear Dog, That was sort of a paternalistic little comment of yours. Jake is well aware of the physical law of nature called "depth". I am sure the little cratering had to do with bolt removal etc. What ever the cause, Jake undoubtly did a craftsman like job. So STFU.
  4. Get over to ascensionist.com, and vote for "the biggest Morn on cc.com". There is no clear leader. Please hurry!
  5. Happy B-Day Iggy!!!!!
  6. What is the latest word on access to these areas? Last I heard, there were several washouts with barriers. Have these been repaired? Are the barriers still there? Are they 4x4 passible (by a very good driver).
  7. This is only going to affect Army MAST units. Navel, Marine, and CG MAST capabilities are not affected (yet).
  8. Drove to Tieton, stopped in Ellensburg for lunch and a visit with Doug Klewin and his nine children. Went to the Tieton, and helped a small evac operation. Burned some wood. Slept in the front of AlpineK's new truck. Went to Rainbow Rock, a very so-so place. Any word on how the broken ankle victim is? Photo's of the Klewin family to follow.
  9. It wasn't about Billygoat. It was about Klenke, and even more so, Biwalling.
  10. Moderators: Please delete un-needed posts, and make this thread sticky.
  11. Anyone who hijacks a missing person thread; to talk about a route, or this or that, is a moron or an asshole.
  12. Yes, there is a grandfather clause. You did a bunch of digging because it was a condition of sale, not because the building dept. told you to.
  13. I resent the snide statement about heated side mirrors. The first and only vehicle I ever drove with heated mirrors was a big old flat bed. Heated mirrors were a working class thing untill they were co-opted by the bourgeoise. Besides, Suburu sold out along time ago.
  14. Labor Ready.
  15. Kim Schmitz
  16. Well, how about Russ Erickson almost doing it on TR in 79 or 80 in EB's? That was way before it's time, and typically another little known fact about Russel.
  17. That pin is much a different case than those you cited. The pull is straight out, and it probably has not been hammered since Randy in April 1980. When Randy and John established that route, that was a very good pin. But now?? Technologies evolve, as do ethics. The fixed pin on GM Heart of the Country is about the only pin that I know of that I would even consider replacing with a bolt. Your arguements about Town Crier are specious, a failure of one of those is not a death sentance. Randy has already gave his blessing, would you like me to call John next?
  18. Me too.
  19. From RC.com Robert Kamps recently doed from a heart attack at age 73.

    RIP Duke

I think his best stuff was almost thirty years ago, although I do remember reading a great editorial about Ed Meese in the PI in 1988. HST was so spot on, the PI never carried him again. He was the perfect carrier of the anger that many of us feel towards the political system. I have also read one or two biographies of HST, and saddly, he seemed to be a drunken shell of himself, a caricature of his past. There were pretty clear alligations of domestic violence, and his literary skills had diminished. I think alot of the talk of his comingling drugs and writing early in his career was just hyperbole, his writing was too clear to come out of 30 hits of acid, but he eventually started acting out his own false personna.
  21. I don't know what the "Mystery" route is, but Doug Klewin thought that Chicken McNuggets was the hardest aid pitch he had done, when he and Dean did the second ascent in 1984. That being said, it is a pitch that will abrade you, but not kill you. At Squamish, Daryll told that the hardest pitch by far was the Cobra Corner, and that includes the Pan routes, as well as Breakfast Run.
  22. Jens, That is a fucking dumb thing to think, much less say.
  23. I don't think you would die on those pitches.
  24. AlpineK has it on good authority that the reason John Wayne used to come up to the Port Townsend area was for boating, fishing, hot gay love, and more hot gay love. Is this true? We should always accept AlpineK as an expert on Hot Gay Love.
