  1. Wow Kurt, what a burn! You're showing the thought and debating skills that propelled you from the back of the short bus, all the way to the Captaincy of the Fircrest School Debate Squad! I bet Rolf is crying, you got him so bad.

  3. That is so sadly true. There is only one true pig rigger. He needed a loud little idea man, and a ground guy. Kurt only flouts his little pig-rigging experience to pick up chicks. But real women are repulsed by his mis-treatment of the working class.
  4. PATHETIC
  5. Both books are written for the general public.
  6. "Roadside Geology of Soutyern British Columbia" by Mathews and Monger. An excellent book (so far), the best in my opinion, of this series. May be as good as my all time favorite "Geology of the North Cascades", by Tabor and Haugarud.
  7. Also, ask the moderators to move this to "the Climbers Board", which would be a more appropriate site. You would also probably recieve more views.
  8. It certainly was not built by an archetectural firm. It was designed by Beall McCullough, who was 66 when I climbed with him in 1977. So you may find him in www.whitepages.com, or he may be dead. I would try going to the web site of the Washington Kayak club. I think that Steve Exe may know something. Also, AlpineK's dad may know more about Beall McCullogh.
  9. Gone - promised. The Five-Ten drills are very easily broken. Do other manufacturers make a tapered drill to fit a Rawl holder? If I was going to replace this bolt kit, I would buy a holder for SDS drills. The hangers are still going to require a little work with a flapper wheel.
  10. I don't need it. 1) Two Rawl taper drill holders 2) Three Five-ten 3/8" drills 3) One Rawl 3/8" drill 4) One Five_ten drill 5/16" 5) Five Five-Ten 1/4" drills 6) Two drifts 7) Six heavy duty stainless steel hangers, drilled for 1/2" anchors. Suitable for use at belay stations, made at a pipe fabrication company. Needs some finishing.
  11. Hammocks don't suck all that bad. And with a keen eye, bivy sites are all over the place. I only slept one nite in a hammock on the Zodiac, all the other nites I was curled up on comfy little ledges.
  12. How about the Mountaineers bookstore? It is only twenty some-odd bucks, just buy it you cheap _______.
  13. Did you try Amazon?
  14. "Most" lowering scenerios do involve a re-direction of the rope. I guess that you could argue that lowering directly from the device loads the anchor the same as a rapell. But how about the lowerer? And I have found that lowering in said manner often results in a jerky ride. I think the arguement is getting parsed way too much here.

    I'm outta here

You'll be back within two weeks.
  16. Has this been posted on other sites? Summitpost.com? Supertopo? RC.com? That would probably help. Good luck.
  17. And I know that Rolf is really really sorry that he stole, and then threw those biners that you stole from REI in 1991.
  18. And TFM has told me in private that he is sorry he stole your vest in 1988.
  19. Oh yea, and last year I stole a tape measure and a utility knife from you.
  20. Wow, this really gets to me. Hey AlpineK, I am really sorry that I stole a can of chili, a fork, and a tape of Pearl Jam from you in Zion, in 1993. It won't happen again.
  21. So what happens if the can will not pop? Now your rope is stuck 200' up, to a possibily shitty cam. Do you have your partner jug on up?
  22. Thanks for the new and improved MIDWAY TOPO . I hope you didn't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back.
  23. Bridwell puts on a show that defies words. When I first saw him in '81, he was so stoned (as was I) that little made sence. I also went to his show in '99, and he showed every slide of a trip to Alaska, and board me to death. I remember seeing Jack Roberts and Tobin Sorenson after they had climbed Kitchner in winter. Jack was in a wheel-chair with frostbite, and was on pain meds. Some good slurring occured.
  24. Tell us more about the Yabo book. Who wrote it? Biography or autobiography? The KCLS has a huge book selection.. I heard a slide show by Lynn Hill, and she came off well, although she had to do no extemporaneous speaking.
  25. Wow. I am reading Lynn Hills autobiography, and the parts regarding Yabo are chilling. I have had friends that have had similar problems, and it is very sad.
