  1. i'll never understand why people "hooking your way up a climb" makes it easier to lead. It makes my placements scarier, and it's way harder to get gear.
  2. it's not supposed to be complex, but for some reason humans take simple archetypal movements (or concepts) and fuck them up as adults.
  3. Cool hat though!
  4. other running technique: Pose Method Evolution Running (I like them)
  5. Notch Peak - north face. 26 pitches total 5.11 trad/sport limestone desert big wall. The "1/2 Dome of the Desert". The stone below is 1-6 pitch granite, and Ibex is across the street. Full Size http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/504/IMG_15031.JPG
  6. http://www.aciessesaldature.com/saldature/index.asp?Lang=EN&Sez=Cli some really cool looking stuff!

  9. i'm going to save all my $$ and make you be my bitch, and guide my ass, and maaaaybe just maybe you'll get a tip. better be good though.
  10. i hope there was an intended irony in your website name
  11. I already have arthritis in my foot. You should be dead by now Gene
  12. Yo Gene, Actaully there isn't a good story. Guy climbs too much and stars getting older! Or it could be from my massive skiing wipeouts during my initiation to the sport the last couple years -
  13. i believe this thread was about the ice tool company? just to repsond, though. My book only devotes 8 or so pages to climbing specific training. It's a summary and meant to be a useful tool for devising a training plan. But that is a very knowledgable list there John!
  14. oh, i was talking about 10 wobenzyme pills - not the iodine I've heard a lot of talk about thyroid / adrenal insufficiency. Although I'm sure it's overly hyped in the naturopath word and every hypocondriac yuppie from here to boulder suffers from it...I think it's a pretty interesting theory. We tax our system via stress, overproduce then shut down - kind of like Type II diabtetes? I would be interested to hear the exact theories behind the syndrome, and behind the nutritional cure.
  15. cool! Yeah, hook me up with his digits. I've just recovering (hopefully) from a bad shoulder/neck injury (torn ligs and disc) so they may or may not be wasted on me this year.
  16. I forgot to mention... 10 seems like a lot
  17. what about those leashes and screamer? anyone tried those out? oh, and carlos was so kind as to review my book, but i don't know him personally
  18. anyone know anything about these guys "E-Climb" http://www.e-climb.com/ "hey hello!" As far as the tools go, I wouldn't buy anything unless someone way better than me said they rocked...but they look neat. They have umbilicals and a very interesting load limiter that looks like you can convert any sling into one? Thoughts?
  19. i like PainX and inflammzyme, but the brand you mentioned is pretty good
  20. hahhahahah!!!
  21. i keep one in my chalkbag and one in my pack. payed for itself more than a few times
  22. pretty amazing stairway already got climbed to the top
  23. had the same thoughts a while ago. I think maybe Rolf, or was it Mark Allen or was it Seth Hobby who did one of them? can't remember. I remember scoping out the descent and thinking it would be epic, and had that confirmed by said person. Hows that for a Reganesque reply?
  24. don't forget the GPS enabled H.U.D. onscreen goggles (i'm dead serious).
  25. Bald eagle always $14
