    The Pope?

What about this pope. he's conservative when it comes to bolting.
  3. Well then you must be in tight with some professional climbers...that's just sooo cool.
  4. Are you a profesional climber NOLSe...that is just so incredible.
  5. I didn't see any signs about raptor closures...so I guess they're done or we didn't go where they're still in effect.
  6. CJZ and I went over to the Tieton this weekend. We got there late on Saturday and hiked up to the Royal Collumns. When we got there we ran into a group of Mounties who were trying to evacuate a badly hurt member. The story I got was that the climber fell 8' on a 5.4 route and did some kind of compound fracture on his ankle. It looked really nasty, and there was blood seeping through the bandages. CJZ helped cary some of their packs back to the road, and I and another member of their group helped the injured climber hobble on his good leg. We got him quite a ways down the trail before some EMS folks showed up. I was hoping we could get him to an easy point since I knew they were going to turn the whole thing into a circus. Sure enough there were soon about 20 firefighters there. The lead firefighter wanted to rope the injured climber down to the flats using 2 ropes and a tied off boulder. I set up a good anchor in a crack, but apparently they didn't trust anyone who didn't wear a firefighter uniform. So I just sat there and watched the circus. To their credit they did get the guy down without dropping him, but they turned a simple opperation into a major ordeal. All I can say is if I was hurt I'd rather crawl than go through that. On Sunday we wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been before, so we hiked up to Rainbow rocks. The climbing their is alright, but not nearly as good as the older Tieton areas. Then we drove home.
  7. I've already got plans to go climb some nice basalt, and it ain't that shitty yet trendy basalt you like to climb at Frenchy Gully...Dickhead.
  8. Well she just died. I'm not heartless, but I'm glad she did. I was getting really sick of constantly hearing about it on the news plus IMO it was the best thing for her.
  9. The first step in curing your communism is admitting you're a communist. Mr Fairweather; Are you, or have you ever been a member of the communist party.
  10. Well that sucks, but it's too late to change plans so Andy's it is.
  11. Yeah if I need to,but I have to be pushed to the point. I changed Rudy's profile after he'd been a punk ass about skiing for a month or so. Rudy had a sense of hummor about it which may be sadly lacking when it comes to j_b.
  12. I use it, and it works great. There is a limit to production that's smaller than the current US use of diesel.
  13. Maybe you're just mad that you didn't think of, "evil homonym," first.
  14. Gas prices are really elastic, but there is a breaking point. In the 70s the US got to the breaking point and the result was that Detriot wasn't able to build a reliable and fuel efficient car. We ended up with major economic problems and bought Japanese cars.
  15. I like to use this site to figure out what the general weather trends are going to be. It predicted last winter's crappy snow conditions when folks were crowing about the good winter predicted by those climatologists down in Oregon. You can see if the temperature and precipitation levels are going to be above or below normal. You can look ahead to the summer. I hear El Nino is just about done.
  16. I don't think you've been reading carefully Fairweather. Jim's quote says that we need a broad based environmental movement especially including evangelical types. The article or whatever does not mention James Watt. Scott is the one who brought up Watt's, "quote," and by extension said that evangelicals would never support environmental causes. If there's a fight to be had it's between Jim and Scott. Jay just set the record straight on what Watt actually said and pointed out the problems with extreme views on all sides.
  17. If there's enough people who want to do something after 9 we could either go to the Owl and Thistle or there's a place over by the Sears/SODO/Starbucks bldg. It's a dive, but I know the Owner and the manager there. Chuck you can call my cell if you're getting there late.
  18. I always get affect and effect backwards.
  19. I'm thinking you wouldn't have to work too hard to turn a woman into a lesbian at the Wild Rose.
  20. How does outdoor recreation effect the nodder. How does it effect
  21. I'm totally down with Andy's, but we might want to pick a location for later on. Or I suppose we could go earlier.
  22. I'm not a big bible reader; however in the book Genisis god gives man stewardship over plants and animals. Stewardship is not ownership; stewardship means you can use things as long as you take care of them and leave things in good condition when you leave. I believe this is the line of thinking which makes evangelicals want to support environmental issues. GW has the backing of evangelicals on issues like abortion, but there are lots of them who don't like the anti environmental stance he takes.

    Subaru sells out

I'll give you one excellent reason to buy a new car or truck. Tax deduction of course you've gotta have a business. You are right that buying a 3-5 year old vehicle is the best value. As long as the first owner didn't hammer it.
  24. Snowboarders [whine] I don't like to traverse [/whine] Maybe if you didn't have both your legs tied together...oh wait thats skiing. Traversing keeps the riff raff out. Making people work a little bit cuts the crowds down and thus preserves powder. It's especially effective with the snowboard crowd who likes to sideslip down runs they can't ride.
  25. I don't think CJZ had any issues with what Billygoat said. It's all you Klenke. It's mostly a matter of the emphasis of the climb over the missing person in your post. In any case I'm sure you weren't activly trying to be rude.
