  2. Talk? Who cares about talk? If I wanted that I'd hang out with my wife fer crissakes.
  3. whole rack of slung hexes, slung stoppers and scottish style crampons: $5 at garage sale.
  4. Is there a place that rents snowmobiles? I imagine two can ride on board while pulling at least one other. Split that many ways it would be pretty cheap.
  5. Going climbing with Cracked?
  6. Are gas canisters available in Bolivia? If so what kinds? Gracias.

  8. Although I have not been there, I can say with a reasonable sense of certainty that the road I assume you are thinking of, that goes to cold springs campground, is closed about 6 miles from the campground. It usually doesn't fully open until late June or so.

  10. He does sleep there sometimes. He also often hangs out on snag ledge partying without ever doing any climbing.
  11. Was he burning cheeba as he did so? Is he really skinny? If the answer to both are yes then thats Opdyke all right. He generally views Beacon as his personal crag.
  12. Same can be said of hanford.

    Parable

Ant, who works for large multinational corporation votes republican. Republican candidate receives large campaign contributions from large multinational corporation. Republican candidate elected on platform of values espousing personal responsibility for own welfare, entitlement to fruits of own labor. Elected Republican proposes legislation that allows multinational corporations to relocate labor force overseas, thereby reducing production costs. Also proposes legislation reversing labor laws, allowing corporations to make salaried employees work longer hours for no overtime pay. Cuts funding to welfare programs to support people who lost their jobs after large multinational corporations move overseas. Enact tax reforms that allow managers of large multinational corporations to pay fewer taxes while not providing tax relief to lower income levels. Ant now works harder and longer for less pay and fewer benefits and dwindling security--but he is still entitled to the fruits of his labor. Meanwhile large multinational corporations become more powerful, influential and executives therein become richer and richer and less accountable for their actions. Vote Republican all right.
  14. what are you guys babbling about?
  15. I worked on a case involving a guy who died in a huge coleman tent that he was heating with a propane heater. Ventilate well.
  16. You've summitted?
  17. Peanut butter in the squeeze tube. Dont even bother with a jar--plastic or not. As Ryland noted, it will freeze solid. You can scavenge food from people leaving the glacier too. They dont want to haul that shit around and you have the privilege of being picky too.
  18. Gas has been really expensive in Europe for decades and I don't see any groundbreaking alternative fuel research originating there. I'd happily pay an increased fuel tax if they devoted the revenue straight to research for something that would get us off OPECs tit. We could give the middle east the single finger salute.
  19. Whens someone gonna step up and do St Peters Dome.? Come on you Dodge chasers! I guess I better dig out the Dodge book.
  20. I agree with Sketch. Hydration is the key. Your mantra should be "clear and copious." Sleep well the night before. Acclimitization is totally unpredictable. Looks like Cayambe lost almost a thousand feet since I was there!
  21. Better yet, paddle it yourself and see the effects. You'll have LOTS of time to ponder. I paddled the Columbia from the headwaters lake to the WA border. Its just one huge lake.
  22. If you're going up that early (late) to beat the crowds you're going to be skiing some bulletproof ice. Bring a face guard.
  23. Yeah, nothing like pulling plastic huh?
  24. My head hurts.
