Wasn't it Bush the Elder who coined the phrase "New World Order"?

120?? good lord. Things that work well with this item? Gaiters.

The REAL funny thing was he was trying to lift a set of bolt cutters from a canuck hardwear store. The security guard saw him trying to stuff them in his pants and when they wouldnt fit he just walked out with them. He's not terribly bright thats for sure. His excapade on the fed building did have some positive impact on the Eagle Creek timber sale.

I'm sure a LOT of lurkers would disagree with you Dru.

It was funny to see Tres poised on the lip of that bucket with hips a-flexin'. Nothing extends the middle finger salute to the forest service quite like taking a dump in plain sight. Hooray for Redden!

I was a regular to rec.climbing until our more regionally oriented board fired up (thanks Jon and Timmy!). My very first foray into rec.climbing resulted in a sound schooling by Lord Slime. Over the years I met a few of the rec.climbers and am still very good friends with a couple. I think its funny that Dru makes a criticism of rec.climbing as being a place where everyone knows each other. Um.. gee, that doesn't sound like cc.com at all. I really don't see that much of a difference between cc.com and rec.climbing. We've both got our long-standing flame wars, petulant squabbles and incessant whining about the good old days, moderation etc. I basically stopped posting at rec.climbing because I have to access it via google and the lag time is atrocious.

I don't agree with the label of terrorist as applied to Tres or the ELF. However, one of the representatives of the logging company was quoted in the paper as saying that his employees had been scheduled to be in those same logging trucks two hours after the firebombs went off. Its unclear whether the firebombs were timed devices or what. Isn't this kind of fear, in and of itself, a goal of terrorism? Scott, I find myself hypnotized by your avatar image way more than I ever was by Lummox. Good work, bro.

He burned some dump trucks in Portland, some logging trucks in Estacada and I believe he was implicated in the SUV fires at a dealership in Eugene. He was affiliated with the Cascadia Forest Alliance which quickly disavowed any backing or endoresment of these actions. Hey Chris--did you check out that spot Tres hung out on? It was a lot wider than 9" Its a pretty big ledge actually. The really funny part was the fact that he had a 5-gallon bucket he used as a toilet. Lots of privacy there.

Favorite quote from the Oregonian this morning: "Tres Arrow is back in the quiver"

And he's a champ to do business with. Wish I would have known these were for sale when I was up there Sunday--I would have taken them myself.

Hey Tomo-- Welcome to Portland. The local crew that posts here gets together informally from time to time to talk shit and drink beer. Check here for more information.

In oregon, if you've been busted for driving while suspended, driving without insurance OR have a lapse in insurance coverage (without getting busted) your rates will be through the roof. All three of those? Well, BOHICA!!
-
They take your car for driving without insurance in Orygun so be glad you weren't busted here. Mandatory insurance is a good thing. However, knowing that, the insurance companies really stick it to ya. Wait until you try to buy car insurance wirl--thats when you'll really pay. You're fines will feel like foreplay in comparison. And no, you won't be getting any reach-around from the man. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. But, like Beretta once opined, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."

ok--how about $100 plus a bottle of thunderbird? In the interest of full disclosure: I get pro deals on the thunderbird. -
Or you could ascend the gully we used to retreat into Leutholds. Looks to go almost straight up the headwall. There is a relatively decent platform at the base of the yocum headwall that would a decent bivvy spot but I'd hate to be there if it warmed up. The snow on the headwall itself was nicely consolidated but very friable. A couple of wacks with my tool sent shit raining down. A reall ass-clencher. I couldn't have left a brown bomb if I wanted to.

Those tracks were probably ours. The brown bird was most likely the shredsters. I'm surprised you didn't see us. We saw two headlamps come over the saddle as we were bailing from the first gendarme. Surprisingly, although the snow was pretty solid, it wasn't sticking to the rock for shit making the first gendarme a pants-filling endeavor. We bailed for the Sandy and endured hours of small icefall until we made a wrong turn and ended up at the Yocum headwall. Losing time (I had to be back in town by noon) we bailed down Leutholds to the saddle where shred basked in the sunshine and I trudged to my skis at the Palmer. Was back in Portland by 1215. Thank god--it was my wifes birthday. Glad your ok Eric. Nice TR. We must have just missed each other.
