  2. You're right, Andrew--I got the iron from my BD contact for the Baffin trip. Did you ever go? I haven't seen Larry or Mark in several years. Kind of hard to forget those Space pictures.
  3. Negative. I worked used to work at the bagdad with Larry and Mark. We climbed together a few times at Beacon. I hooked you up with a lot of the iron you used on Space.
  4. Andrew--are you in Portland now?
  5. The route is, in fact, Space. The climbers are Larry and Andrew. Pink is Andrew? I thought Andrew was in Colorado. Still have that van?
  6. Perhaps that will be more enjoyable than Ivan singing at the belay. I doubt it though.
  7. I'm actually surprised Sobo and I haven't met yet. Happy birthday Paul.

    what climb is this?

If baa was all I could date, like if I was a shut in nerd addicted to the Internet still living with my parents in Chillwack, maybe I'd date them too. Dru still lives with his parents?
  9. Opdyke is more than 63 isn't he?
  10. Another thing you can do is put your skins on for the downhill sections too. Not "fun" but it does keep things a bit more under control if you are a terrible skier and/or using mountaineering boots.

    Waterboarding

    Me talk pretty one day.
  12. I've met both JayB and DeChristo and I can tell you that they are most certainly NOT the same person.
  13. Another Portlander had his rack--and wallet--stolen from his truck at the Bagdad Theatre. When he canceled his credit card the CSR told him his card had just been used to rent a hotel room downtown. He called the hotel and sure enough, he was registered. He called the cops who told him it was a low priority and they might take action--it was only when he said he was going to take action himself that the cops acted. he got most of his stuff back. Property crimes are pretty low on the cops priority scale. Be sure and check next adventure too. Good luck.
  14. If thats the topo I am thinking of, its been posted before. Crackman thats sick! Glad to hear you made it. Sounds like you went up the Coe onto the sunshine.
  15. Not since gas prices skyrocketed. That was then, this is now. The auto makers milked that cow a little too long. From http://autos.msn.com/advice/article.aspx?contentid=4023925: Trucks continued to dominate U.S. vehicle sales in 2006. Another year of auto sales is complete, and while total sales dropped just 2.6 percent, the mix of cars and trucks has changed. Full-size pickups continue to be the most popular vehicles with U.S. buyers; however, truck sales are down 6.7 percent compared to sales in 2005. Total sales show the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado as the top two sellers in the country, followed by the Dodge Ram in fourth, according to sales information published by Automotive News.
  16. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the most successful vehicles manufactured by US auto makers (i.e. SUVs) also the most fuel-inefficient?
  17. Actually I think the only person still reading V7's mindless drivel IS KKK.
  18. Weird Science. Hot chick, stupid stupid movie.
  19. I take it you think the cost of transportation is not factored into the pricing of consumer goods.
  20. How dare you insult ferret's like that!
  21. I was up on the hogsback about a week ago as well. If you ski it, take rock skis. Lots of footprints going up to the bergschrund and lots coming right back down. As Iain noted, the old chute is the route of choice right now and even that requires trudging back onto scree before you get on the snow again. We need more a lot more coverage.
  22. Now none of the avatar pictures appear for me. This happened the last time you guys "upgraded" the board.
  23. I have to log in twice to make a post or send a message. I hate those shit-brown streaks too.
  24. Wait until you make that first move out of the cave to the top. You are catching big air then (at least for orygun).
  25. Take some hooks next time and you wont have any problems with reaching that first bolt. Coming out of the cave to the top is essentially just two moves of easy aid and then a scramble to the top. Thats a fun route to get your clean aiding dialed in. I had the same feeling about rapping out of that cave though--it was up and over for us though--we only had one rope.
