I've been skiing on 7tm bindings for a couple years. I like them. A couple important things to note are that they only release laterally and not vertically (in other words only if you twist the ski to the side and not straight up) and they are heavy. About 3 times as heavy as my old G3 cable bindings. The heel lifters are nice. They've released for me several times (a testament to my shitty tele abilities) and I've been damn glad when they have for the most part. You can adjust the release. They are finicky to get back into if you do pop out.

If you mean the section of 205 going from Portland to Wilsonville I will have to agree with you--during rush hour. After rush hour it clears up pretty nicely and he did talk about sitting out the rush hour getting his drink on. The section of 205 from the Couve to PDX is pretty mellow during rush hour.

VW imports the Toureg in the TDI model. I think the base list price is something like 60K.

You should have her take the I-205 cut-off into east Portland and meet up at the I-84/I-205 interchange, THEN head downtown. There aren't a lot of people who commute to vancouver from pdx but I-5 is always challenging during the rush hour commute--both directions. A lot of people head south (like to wilsonville) and traffic can be backed up all the way to the bridge. Also, there are TONS of excellent restaurants on the east side depending on yoru desires and appetite. By avoiding downtown altogether you can take I-205 straight into Wilsonville.

When where you told this? The eTrex Vista HCx has a setup option to designate lithium or alkaline. I was told this when I contacted Garmin after my 2nd eTrex Vista (NOT the HCx but the older b&w version) went tits up. He asked if I used lithium batteries and I told him no then asked why. I learned that the reason my Vista's kept crapping out was because I used them on a dual-sport motorcycle and they couldn't handle the vibrations. No problems witht he 60CSX though.

A garmin rep told me lithium batteries, fresh out of the pack, can have an initial electical spike that can fry the eTrex models. He said they specifically recommend against using lithium batteries. Just what I was told, YMMV. Just a word of caution.

That harness is an antique. No one should be using that thing!!

Are you sure its not his aim you admire as he delivers that spunk all over your face?

you like the guy who didn't serve in the military... wait you just criticised W for that. oh dear Actually he said shrubs military record is a joke. I dont read that as a critisicm for NOT serving but that his actual purported "service" was not exactly of the highest standards.

I bought these a couple years ago on Ttips and since I got my Jaks these just aren't getting much use so I am spreading the love. 188cm Miras with G3 binders on them (red cables, with springs on them and cartridges--sorry, dont know what model). Risers, heel lifters and leashes. The skis have minor edge chipping and scratches but no core shots and edges are in good shape--in spite of my lackluster skiing ability. $100 or best offer, plus shipping. Glidelight skins trimmed to fit for an extra $50. Skins in good shape with good glue. PM for pictures/questions/offers. I'm in Portland if anyone wants to take local delivery. Also still have some leather tele boots available. I'd really like to see them get some use. Pay for shipping ($30? or pick them up locally and give me a 6-pack of TG IPA) and they are yours. See here for details: http://www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=39360&highlight= I also have what I think is a complete set of Ramer bindings--free to a good home. You pay for shipping.

Forecast I just saw on the tube said weather will be turning south late tonight. Why risk it?

American Apparel's CEO is also the defendant in a number of sexual harrassment claims by his employees. Apparently he's taken a fondness for showing up in meetings showcasing the underwear.

I used soft contacts for years (accuvue multi-day lenses) with no problems until a trip to Bolivia. Slept with them in at 18K and woke up to blurry vision that got progressively worse until I removed the lenses and descended to our base camp. An opthalmologist told me I had corneal edema caused from a restricted oxygen flow due to the contacts. Probably could have been avoided by removing the contacts before sleeping but who wants to mess with them at that point? I had LASIK done as soon thereafter as possible.

Not to sound rude, but do you have any TRs you want to post on this site of your hardman adventures or do you just use cascadeclimbers as your commercial website? -

With all the banner ads, military solicitations, etc., the site needs to hold a fundraiser?

+1 on the gator skins. I would routinely get flats (pinch flats--I'm too lazy to check my tire pressure regularly) and had something like 5 flats in a week. I've been running the gator skins for two continuous years of commuting to work and not a single flat. They've paid for themselves in savings on tubes and peace of mind.

Listen to the Commander. I would add that if there is any way possible, buy your boots from a brick and mortar store that is reputable and has a knowledgeable person for fitting your boots to your foot.
-
Are you learning to tele or AT? What size is your foot? The more information you provide the more likely you are to get some help.

I was there Sunday and had trouble finding parking and thought about using the nearly empty Taco Bell parking lot but thought better of it. Glad I did after reading the above. There is a sign warning against it on the door of the mountain shop too. Tow truck companies are out of control in Portland. They will routinely cruise various parking lots and tow random cars--they don't even have to be called anymore.
