  1. Seeing how I don't get the chance to climb much I only have a few choices for best pitch of 07 so I'd say it was prolly leading Jill's Thrill. The 3rd pitch of Where Ever I May Roam was fun too. Hoping to get out more this year though. Gotta agree that D.O.W.T in RR is one of my all time favs but have not done it for years.
  2. Thanks HC, my boot shell(s) are the right size but I get the inevitable ankle bang/shin bite. All my liners are pretty packed out so I think a new liner would do wonders.
  3. So, has anyone actually used the intuition liner? Wondering if it is a way to salvage less than desirable boot fit. A more affordable alternative to spending $800 on something I will use a few times a year, at best.

  9. Just wondering if anyone has tried these Scarpa Universal Boot Liners. Are they as good as the marketing claims? Scarpa Universal Liner Link Thanks
  10. It's not that secret.... There is a trail you can hike to the top... Unless stupid birds are nesting... It's south of Wind Mountain... Actually, you can hike the trail year round but rock climbing is closed about half the year (Feb-July) due to falcon nesting habitat. Beacon is West of Wind Mt, I'd guess about 10 miles west of.
  11. I'm interested but won't be in Seattle anytime soon.

  15. How used is not used up and what year were the originals? 04-05? Any pics? I'm in the gorge, Beacon Rock area but am looking for another shorter at set up.
  16. Would the bindings fit a larger boot without remounting, say 10.5/11ish US sizing?
  17. I had a buddy in SanDiego that said everyone in his office all had gotten the same photo red light ticket and it was a right of passage thing to have your picture blown up and hanging on the cubicle wall. Turns out, the maker of the photo light camera had some tie in with the city, or kickback er some such other conflict of interest. The yellow lights were on a shortened cycle, thus giving the city a lot more citations that were not really legit. I guess the scam eventually got broken up but it shows hows these types of things can easily be abused. Who knows how much money they made off innocent drivers before someone figured it out.
  18. Last call for Beacon, lest your like gulls poached. Saturday looks good. Sunday a maybe.
  19. LOL, I thought the thread was TeleMARKERS (skiers). I read about a guy who found out where the telemarketers were having a big convention at some hotel and he spent all night calling them at 3am . "Hi, just wanted to wake you up and let you know how much I hate telemarketers"...
  20. I'll second that, I think more than half the posts are from the same few folks going back and forth. A little fun jab now and then is one thing but dominating the whole site gets a bit tiresome for the rest of the users (at least for me anyway). Someone even came up with a great idea of a dedicating bashing thread but it did not catch on I guess. Maybe you guys could settle this with a thumb war or pistols at 50 paces or something?
  21. It's always easy to play armchair quarterback but most of us should know the mountains can get even the best/well prepared climbers. I'm glad they are ok and down safe. I was up on Sunday too and we almost took the wrong ridge skiing down in the cooper spur area. Luckily we caught our mistake before we had to backtrack but it is easy to get lost, even with all the right equipment and experience. I consider myself pretty experienced in the mountains but also know every time I go out I need to be extra careful and never let my guard down. Some of the most talented, famous and experienced climbers are no longer with us, often times the only fault was being in the mountains at the wrong time/wrong place.
  22. I did that once on a climb on Rainier. We came off the summit and drove home. I had visions of my SO being excited when I crawled into bed with her. Instead she chewed me a new one for getting the dogs all wound up and waking her up (it was about 2AM)! I'll not repeat that one again. Good thing her boyfriend was not there. -r
  23. Thanks, I been wanting a new headlamp.
  24. I think this falls into the "You might be a redneck if you have truck nuts" category.
  25. OMG! You GOT the gift Ivan! Yeah, that one cracked me up good too
