A whole month without ClimbingPanther???
ClimbingPanther replied to ClimbingPanther's topic in Spray
she does climb, and my climbing partner was our 1 degree of separation. they grew up together, he was my college roommate. hmmmm, dru, it seems even you have pasted the dead snaffle on your chin in times past... at least I don't wear one on my chest too -
Sorry I haven't been able to shower you with bad spray, interrupted with spurts of genius, for an entire month now. I'll be lucky to climb at all, let alone spray about not climbing, in the coming years Anybody got hot tips about the Riverside area, as in beautiful, cheap apartments with no crime and responsive management? Speaking of hot tips, I clearly have a hot tip for wedding photography in eastern Washington (based in Walla Walla, will photograph just about anywhere). Actually two hot tips because my climbing partner slash wedding photographer was in the wedding.

Well, from the standpoint of not knowing anything about religions of the world, you could be correct. We all know religions can go through phases of evil, such as the Inquisition in Christianity, but a religion that goes through a phase and recovers is different from a religion whos very nature is evil. I'm not drawing conclusions here, but posing a question. Is this phase of Islam (widespread acceptance of violence in the name of Allah) just a phase, or is it the very nature of the religion?

not once did they mention that climbing is "super fun"

Random Tips and Tricks Thread - not spray

Always count calories/weight of the food you bring. Pure oil is 9 calories/gram and is the highest calorie content of any edible material (the fattier the food, the better weight savings, at least in your pack, maybe not on your thighs). Peanut butter is the best actual food item, packing 6-7 calories/gram. Don't bring food that's less than 4 calories/gram. Alternating Snickers - Paydays is the fuel of champions. Plan your actual food intake to be ~2000 calories per day. I've never wished I had more food than this. Sure, you can eat more, but you'll just poop more. Leave the camera at home. You won't miss it. You're the only one who actually enjoys looking at your pictures anyway, although your SO will never let on this is true. -
yeah, it's no surprise for that to happen at Vantage too, since the last one was printed on Gutenburg's very own press.

Spitzer loses his career, while Dupre's career buzz is humming like never before!

Ah, the good ole days! Alas, where did they go? Prole, do you buy foreign goods? I sure hope not, as pro-American as you are. No, I didn't say pro-Union, because I'm not so sure that's what you are. An honest to goodness pro-middle-class-citizen-of-the-world would be all about equality, like supporting pay cuts and less benefits for decadent Americans while our Chinese friends get huge bonuses just so they can afford a bottle of Febreeze for their open toilets. Mmmmmm, equality. Sounds so good, but tastes like crap.

Unions are dying, as well they should. How long did you think we could compete in a free market with China & co. when our wages aren't competitive in their market? The result of free trade, coupled with a populace whose primary interest is paying the lowest price for a good/service, is the eventual equalization between the traders. Companies who overpay their workers will inevitably die or be forced to change their ways to remain competitive. Fortunately, government employees have no competition! Thank goodness antitrust legislation doesn't apply. Oh, and if you think a toll booth attendant is needed to deal with the lawless cheaters/non-payers/counterfeiters, then you've never tried to cheat an automated toll system. What kind of a camera can you get for 66K a year these days?

Hey look! You found another way Canada & the US are the same!

Remember the good ol' days, when you used to have to actually bring crack to school to get in trouble for dealing in contraband with your classmates? Not anymore! Ah, how times change.

I use a LaFuma with a weird rating system, probably a 35 degree bag. LaFuma can be pretty cheap for what you get, and are currently on sale at Sierra Trading Post.

Of course there's something you can do about it, Bug. There's something we can all do. Buy lots of Life Is Good product for your friends and family to help bring the company back in the black and save its bottom line. Maybe since it only takes like 2 people to check the internet, they thought they'd do a better job if the theives weren't aware that everyone west of the Mississippi was Out For Justice (sorry Steven, I had to)

haha, thanks sobo anybody ever heard of or been on the Arlberger Klettersteig (Arlberg Climbing Route)??? It's a via ferrata. We're staying in St. Anton am Arlberg and will be itching for some sort of hike or easy climb to get up in the mountains.

We're honeymooning in Europe during July, and Switzerland is on the list. I insisted on riding the Glacier Express, but I'd like to stay a few days somewhere along the way that isn't as expensive as Zermatt & St. Moritz (or Davos). Somewhere that has good day hiking & gorgeous high mountains & deep valleys. But it needs to be on the Glacier Express or within an hour or two of it by train. Any suggestions?

Dude, Machu Picchu is where I'd go if I could choose one location in the world. I hope you can do it! We're honeymooning in Europe and I'm going to start a thread about it right now.

Maybe you could create a past 24 hours link that edits out all the cuss words? We wouldn't want our South Pasadena friends to be unable to use the website in public. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/06/cuss.free.zone.ap/index.html

Circumnavigating Rainier on Skis - advice welcome
ClimbingPanther replied to Panos's topic in the *freshiezone*
I'd shoot for 6-8000 elevation, which keeps you below the really steep terrain but doesn't make the trip unnecessarily long. Just a guess, really. Probably would be ~60 miles, again an educated guess. Sounds like a load of fun! It's something I'd love to do sometime in my life. -
Maybe layton is being mischevious? If so, I applaud the effort!
