I was left speechless. It's human nature to want to blame something else for a misfortune, but to take such actions on what is clearly a highly emotional reaction is dispicable. I think they excluded a few defendents.... the distillery that made the alcohol, the highway administration for creating a road that could kill a person, and lastly the Divine Creator. -r

Depeneding on when and what your comfort level is, you may want to place some protection. When we climbed it in August last year there was some steeper alpine ice. I think spring sees a more mellow snow climb. We brought a 60m x 8.9 Mammut Serenity. -r

You will need some parking permit at Marble Mountain Sno-Park. I am never sure this time of year which one you need, so I'd recommend calling the GPNF station. If nothing else, it they are wrong you could dispute a ticket given you got bum info from the forest service. The same would not be true for bum info from some schmoe like me on CC.com. There are 2 lots there, one for overnight parking. On May 13th, tons of people boot packed it up. No need to any flotation. Best of luck on your climb. -r

I ride every day 30 miles round trip. Every day is bike to work day! There was a similar incident in Portland a few years back to the one in Madison. The weather sure has been nice for riding. -r
