  1. Trip: Yos - Lurking Fear Date: 7/4/2009 Trip Report: Posted a tr from our lurking fear climb over the 4th wknd on summitpost: lurking fear tr
  2. did a north face route on river tower near the fishers couple years ago over labor day. while in the shade, things were ok. hiking back thru. the desert in the pm sun was less ok.
  3. nice tr & photos. that there granite looks super slick?
  4. had the same experience looking for that low 5th class route 5 or 6yrs ago (never found it..never summitted )
  5. awesome job on the twin pillars! great tr too.
  6. sat.
  7. thanks & thanks for the efforts Tyler. so the F6 A3 line goes up the groove in the photo above guy's head by chance? edit: sorry dont know why photo's not showing up but the link's right.
  8. did the main pillar go free?
  9. a cool route IMHO (3/4 stars). "traditional" start is a short 5.8 traverse from the gully on the right (nice too). "holey shit that is a hard 5.8, couldn't get my fingers in it)" I recall saying the same thing on that section...harder than any of the .9 crack above I thought.
  10. For Dolomites, there are 2 that I know of. First is the "select climbs" by Memmel & Kohler (translated into couple languages incl. Eng.) and then there's the more comprehensive, 2 volume (east & west I think) by....gotta check at home. I think for first time visit, the former is more than enough.
  11. couple draws/aid screamers high on p2 (sorry for the litter - my wife had a hell of a time making a couple of the traverse moves on the fixed ladder) hope next party up can grab them & put them to use.
  12. thanks T. (& correct). Hope you post up some tr or at least pic's from your smith adventure once you get it done. (too easy for Corvallis - others?)
  13. one more easy
  14. that spire looks classic T.! easy one
  15. Corvallis, is that shiprock/(non-bridge side) chimney
  16. wolf rock/barad dur?
  17. damn! wish i'd know that as it woulda saved at least an hour. hauling from the cave is easy as hell too. You mean I stood a 2 hour watch on that goddamn little ledge for no reason? Plenty of time for sunset pics whilst I was freezing my balls off. 2nd time up, I also used that "ledge" - great views even if less than comfortable
  18. "overnighting is verboten in the park of course, but based on the amount of neon green signage concerning dog-shit, i felt The Man would be indisposed" that's funny. 60 gets you to the cave in one shot no problem. cool read.
  19. choss cascade waiting to happen:
  20. Mr. Olson's guidebook shows this to be a route but no rating or FA team given. very much look forward to a pic-rich tr.
  21. pm sent.
  22. yeah it does. i think the photo makes it look more off-balance than it is though.
