  1. all my oregon spire sh.tuff is old (maybe the last outing cured me?) but for what it's worth: pillars of hercules west smith summit: the bird from a coupla summers ago: Jeff exploring the possibility of an FFA (J. Leary photo hyperlink) magic brownies celebration on the dome summit (J. Leary photo hyperlinked)
  2. a funny story really...look for details on smithrock.com (bogus)
  3. fun looking climb!
  4. that's too bad Wayne - I've always enjoyed visiting & looking for new postings. hope you get it up & running again soon.
  5. great job on tombstone! saw you guys starting up on saturday. was hoping to get some shots of you later/higher but you must've been done for the day by the time we were hiking back. PS that is a beautiful photo in the topmost post if I may say so myself, Geoff snibble tower is nbd - esp. if you use the sport line on left for 1st 1.5 pitches (like we did). rest is cake. here's some shots: aid pitch .7 choss ramp - looks worse than it is: choss of the direct chimney finish that would avoid the short ladder (apparently first freed by A. Kearney & co). superfun .9 pitch
  6. some sweet photos Tyler. Looks like Oregon towers are back in fashion. Nice tr!
  7. Great stuff. Beautiful pic's.
  8. Josh, no anchor that I could see at the start of the thing. Final bolt had a fat hanger on it & there was somebody's cam stuck near the start of the flake.
  9. Nice J - sounds like a fun adventure & nice of Tyler to clean up the hw on it. That mitten looks like fun - just don't yard too hard if liebacking (chimneying??) it or you might take out burma rd
  10. very cool outing & tr - looking at the date of your Warbonnet climb, looks like we might've passed each other on the trails.
  11. yup & thnx! - unfortunately the container was leaking. the sheet with your entry was pretty soaked. tried to tighten up the lid a bit more. On the other lines....next time I guess - beautiful area, well worth another hike.
  12. Trip: Baron Spire - SE Face Date: 9/6/2009 Trip Report: Posted a tr from our climb on summitpost: http://www.summitpost.org/trip-report/551002/baron-spire-tr.html
  13. Great stuff John!
  14. it's mentioned almost as an afterthought. It would cover many old classics & new routes as well. seems pretty significant.

    RIP Gail Hench

Brian - my deepest condolences for your loss. I'm very sorry to hear this.
  17. yeah, 2 strands & I think one (at least) looked beaten up but I was not really looking carefully (both might be iffy for all I know). the opener 5.8 was enough for me - looked more unpleasant up higher.
  18. Personally, I find it to be the exact opposite...go figure.
  19. JL, Tyler, it is Wombat but I don't think it was Santiam HL -- I think that one went right of this line which I also don't think is in Watts or supplement (I also did not finish this pitch). new bolts to the flared crack/chimney(?) you see. THere was a bail cam in the crack. tad chunky. didn't have the balls to continue. btw, Tyler is that your ongoing effort on CS Concerto?
  20. T, it's Wolf Rock but Barad Dur or something else - i dont know??
  21. maybe not in all cases. I thought that Wildfire is much easier than Pack Animal Direct for example (both 10b per Watts).
  22. Matt, yes, a lot more.
  23. very cool TR - looks like a beautiful climb!
  24. thank you very much Bill
