  2. what a great read! climbing in third world countries always has its unexpected hazards.
  3. beautiful dog. looks like he had a great life. I'm sorry for your loss.
  4. that's some great stuff right there, esp the writing "don't know why they call this launching - space shuttles launch - our takeoff is more akin to fat albert trying to get off the shitter"

  6. that's a big sprawling meadow up there!
  7. nice! makes me wish i could climb that grade.
  8. here never done it but Jeff Thomas mentioned that it's a good route (think he meant better than ne face for free ???)
  9. here's a handful of tr's from sh.t we've climbed in europe: euro tr's that Stuart Green Rock climbing Europe book is OK at best (but as far as I know the only "comprehensive" guide to the continent; no alpine, just a somewhat weird selection of crags). the only place it seemed to work well for us was in meteora in greece. kohler & memmel dolomites select book is great for that place. did not see a good guidebook in english for the stuff in spain. enjoy
  10. great stuff Tyler!
  11. Beckey's drill bit from FA?? top of baron spire's ladder in sawtooths:
  12. Bill, both shots are from dolomites. Kept hearing how these euros like to bolt everything to oblivion but they must've run out of rawls by the time they reached the dolomties since all we saw there was mank. the 2nd pic is Comici's route on cima grande's n. face but (as much as I'd like to think otherwise) I doubt it's Comici's original
  13. blood, sweat, bagels
  14. 2 quality tr's in a single thread. great stuff. if you drop a note as to "when" Wayne, maybe we could get some (loooong range) shots from the south bunny ear
  15. Great TR & climb! Really putting a shitty weather weekend to use!!
  16. saw that this week's oregon field guide (opb) will feature a segment with Jeff Thomas & the Mazamas archive = OR climbing history bit. or field guide episode
