They make an adapter for tele boots which make crampons go on better, its called AT gear.

C'mon. If you sprain your ankle a mile from the Trailhead, there's a pretty good chance Search and Rescue would be able to find you in a couple days. If it was summer.

Metolious = US, no? Scarpa = italy, Garmont = Italy BD = slave labour Metolius makes only cams and harnesses in the US, rest in China, including plastics. Scarpa makes rock climbing shoes somewhere there as well, not sure about ski and winter boots, Garmont- not sure. I think Scarpa and LaSportiva outsource manufacturing of their lower end shoes, but the higher end ones are still made in Italy.

Bring skis (as if there's any other reason to climb Rainier). It makes the going down part a lot quicker and much more fun.
