  2. I agree with Alpine dave, I have had great success wtih my dremel, I beleive there is a link somewhere on here with a 6 step instruction manual on how to do it.

  5. any one had any luck moving the toe bail back one notch...? I tried so hard to pop them out and I cant, I want to extend the length of my front points by pushing my boot back a tad.. thanks in advance
  6. Synconicity was climbed Saturday 01/20 by some buddies and I climbed it on Sunday 01/21 with Steve and Nicole. Reasonable ice, not quite as blue as it appears from the road with the exception of the final 60m. All raps from tree's with quick links no V threads necessary good times

  8. is this in Canada as well....? the Shell thing?
  9. Pretty sure I asked Don Serl about this and he said not a good idea, although ice fractures horizontally once you have the holes ice is stronger width wise rather than vertical, something to do with the grain of the ice being vertical therefore easier to shear through. From your picture maybe you mean just a little offset but dont go ahead and make them vertical

  14. its not even winter yet...oh wait 2 more minutes
  15. how about a goretex jacket, long underwear, socks, mid layers, down jacket, boots, axe crampons..the list goes on even if you rent tools you still need a full array of outdoor gear and that doesnt get you out overnight or deal with snow shoes, skiis... My point being its not like any other easily accesible sport such as rugby, swimming, basketball, soccer where the entry costs are not overwhelming
  16. ya good idea I mean that road only goes to fluffy kitten any ways...

  24. Yup, although the one I saw had the rocks cropped out.
  25. maybe different pics then, pretty weird if it was an obvious slung rock to go ahead and deduce it was a Y indicating a position. Any ways, as per the original question, no you dont use the letter Y to indicate Yes im here
