Gnarly...depends..I drove our rental explorer with running boards to the base of THOS across 2 or three rivers that were not frozen..water never came higher than my hub and there wasnt a cm of snow...so you never know could be fine could be epic.. Not sure how far, if its where I think at some Bull trout spawning channel..then not far

THOS in my opinon was so so...perfect for soloing or just having an easy rest day..I heard Beowolf is much better and more sustained. However you now have to walk to these as opposed to driving to them.

ya I usem, lovem, my friend sent me a few pairs from Switzerland from an army surplus store, he paid 5 swiss francs each. Came in the original tin about the size of a small egg. THey are not elastic band but just a simple string that you tie aroudn your head. THe only thing about them is the metal, so during electrical storms I have had them buzz on my head..little weird, but its all I use, no fog problem as the metal casing is perferated and the edges are coated in felt for comfort. Maybe try an army surplus store obviously the mountain division type stuff. Cheers
