  1. Thanks for the pics. Damn that looks nice. I have a question. In general how late does the season goes over there? How is Feb? Figure may will be a bit late.
  2. Those RDH trigger gloves look great. Will pick those up rather than the OR gloves. The mits would be crazy warm. Maybe if I do K2
  3. but the security of the belay is part of the aid ratings.
  4. Enjoy the silence. Image of John Belushi in Animal house, throwing the hippies guitar against the wall then against the handrail. You play knowing your letting everybody hear you then some one should do that to you, inluding if you a guide.
  5. Recent large snow fall + idiots that don't know what they are doing = rescue. Sorry for the families but if these guys had any clue then they would have not headed out. Media non-coverage cause snowboarding is not considered risky even if it is in the backcountry anymore.
  6. great question and great responces. After cold unjury to hands last winter they are very sensitve to cold now. Trying different things and it looks like I should check out the guide gloves. Those OR mits are just so huge.
  7. I was looking at climbing Mt olympus this winter. It looks as if the road to the TH is closed. Is this true? How far away from TH is it closed.
  8. Well coming from portland I will think twice about headed up there with the limited parking. Hate to head up pay, entrance fee, then not be able to find a parking spot. Or head up with the hope of climbing then not be able to find an overnight spot and thus kill the climbing. Or lie about my climbing intentions so I can get an overnight spot.
  9. yo gayport Looks interesing. Might be able to talk myself into going if there is a weather window
  10. The Kailas look interesting. I am running 190 tm:x, and 190 gotama. So going down to the Icelantics would be a huge change.
  11. Fear if you don't mind me asking, how tall and how much do you weigh? I am 6ft5 and 200 lbs. With that short ski I just wonder. Thanks ilook I will check them out when I am up there.
  12. has anybody used these? icelantic wondering how they work in the great NW snow.
  13. sorry to hear about your trip, but thanks for the update. Happen during the last storm?
  14. that blows. I will get some this weekend for ya.
  15. try washing your shoes with a bit of liquid dish soap and water. two basin sink, and tooth brush to get into the nooks and crannies. This works great for me. After heading to smith I wash them out everytime, gets the dirt out and prevents funk. Then I dry them on a peet boot dryer or if it is nice out just leave them on the stoop.
  16. Maybe the place you are staying will give you a deal. But most of the time ski resorts block out deals durring the holidays.
  17. Take several gloves and rotate to avoid cold injuries that I incured when I did this. Rotate early and often, lesson learned the hardway!!!! Route kicks ass. Oh yes I am going to say it hold....hold.... SUPER FUN
  18. seems odd that this guy is trying to sell, then is hard to get ahold of. Even if he did sell the items he should post or respond that the items were sold.
  19. claning gear would detract from the realism of the film. Jeesh.
  20. I am surpised if you have summited Rainier 5 times solo that you would need to ask such questions. Any route on rainier is avi prone. Take a course. Google it. it will save your life or at least us reading about you in the paper. Bad weather navi skills IS essential. Have your map and compass skills dialed!!!!! People get lost in white outs on thier way to and from muir. Good luck with a week weather window. More like two days if your are lucky.
