  1. "Jared really did most of the step kicking, while carrying an extra 2 gallons of water. I like climbing with people training for trips to Alaska"
  2. way to drag up an old post. 07??? Think she delt with it.
  3. LOL..... wife from florida. My g-friend the same way. Go high must have a floor (on snow) or some one is not happy. What I loose in sleeping bag weight I gain in tent weight. Funny how that works.
  4. FYI I have not done it. Take two screws and a couple of pickets if you feel you need that. You should be fine. If it is anything like it has been the last couple of years it is not that long, just make sure your sticks and kicks are good and solid. THe snice can be tricky that way. You better post a TR for those of us stuck in town. I will do the sun dance and send good vibes.
  5. weather not looking so hot for this weekend.
  6. speaking about guying out tents. I extended the 4 primary stake points on my tent with parachute cord (will add about 6 inches to stake point). Then I can deadman the four corners of the tent as well as having the guy out points, I also deadman those. THere is no way the tent is going anywhere. Might shred the tent but at least it will be there
  7. yes sweet photo. Wish I was one of the three. They have good turns?
  8. It was a good question. Newbies is spray free!!!!!!!! Stop johndaviding this thread.
  9. You know your important to meeeeeeee 8D It is painfull to sit around on the weekends. Full throttle when I am back!!
  10. I have two tents I take out for trips other than car camping. First is a BD megalight (non-free standing) and an integral designs MK3. Both tents at the sh^t but have thier place. Mega for at or below tree line. MK3 for above tree line or exposed areas. Have had both in heavy snow and both work for that. Blowing snow MK3. My first choice is the Megamid for any trip but if conditions warrent it I will take the MK3.
  11. RobJ, I do not own the guide yet but plan on picking one up next time I head to SR. Thanks for putting all the work into the book and getting something updated out. Yes we keep hearing about a new guide book for SR for many years now, I will believe it when I have one in my hands. You did something about it, thanks. Some of us don't have time to look for all the places for new routes that are not in the red book. As for the bridge at north point, I agree there is no need for it. That guy was a freak accident. Some one had other plans for him. It is such a long approach as it is, ya right. Are craggers that lazy? Thanks again.
  12. LOL, I put the call in to find out earlier this morn. My source has not been able to get out there lately but I am sure he will post when he does.
  13. A buddie of mine needs AT gear for the weekend. Is there a place in seattle that rents?
  14. Some one was woking on getting banned by spraying bad questions.
  15. stop johndaviding the forum.
  16. guess I am double screwed. I like to travel up hill with pole straps on at times and I can't stand to ski with out them on. Oh well
  17. it is double top secret Not that I know anything.
  18. WOW good job johndaviding this thread. Thought this thing was finally dead. Like a zombie it rises from the grave.
  19. I pay for the blackhawks. I pay for them to sit around. I pay for them to go on practice missions where ever they go when they don't go do hood. Why not use them on hood? I still pay for them. To depend on them is not good. I agree people need to be self reliant. But if they are needed send the suckers. The national guard is for the nation, not to be sent overseas, hence the "national" in national guard. Hope and pray for thier safe return.
  20. great thread. I think I am in the same boat looking for new boots as the front welts on my current boots are all but gone. Bail barely fits.
  21. There has been a couple of times I wish I had it, sack up. If you use one I can make fun of you. In the end I will still respect you in the morning. FYI I don't climb .12's
  22. Well when I started I was not much of a climber, might not be one still. That aside these guys are clearly not climbers. But if you were going to do true duediligence (sP?) this is one of the places I would start. Might not be the end, but at least a start.
