Duh, Dru. Its called depreciation.
What I think everyone is missing here is opportunity cost. How much does your partner own you for taking away time you could have used to make a killing in the stock market or buying winning lottery tickets?
this why i demand a climbing resume with references for every potential climbing partner. I make sure the call the references and find out if the person routinely booties gear out of their partners rack, and how much they charge for car insurance. I like to shop around and see if I can get the lowest insurance, but you don't want to underpay for a partner. You may also want to ask what their deductable is.

I caressed one of these the other day. Seems like a really nice alpine axe. Light weight, nicely balanced.
I've always found that the best way to convince someone is to first irritate them. It opens their mind up, and facilitates free thinking.
Of course, you can over do irritating people as well as anything, so you've got to guard against that as well.
catbirdseat, I nominate you to be in charge of running the show on the next attack on rc.com. we definitely need quality control, and seperate teams working on the writing as well as the photoshopping. This lackluster effort was really disappointing guys. pull it together.
