If I may respectfully give a little input, I think one of the first orders of business might be to educate the members about some stewardship issues, what Wilderness designation means to climbers, and how the public comment process works. I say this because I feel I've been able to give a lot more input on stuff I care about as a private citizen than as a volunteer for WTA. Having everyone undertand how the system works is half yer battle, IMO. BTW Matt, I don't think Gary's out on paternity leave anymore.

Well that might explain why they fit me great too, as I am no gazelle myself. The one thing I'd like to get rid of is those front pockets. We met tonight and have opted for the PT. Maybe do some variation on the Luna next year if all goes well. The big diff is PT=14K w/o peaks, and Luna is closer to 18, plus the mileages for the PT are less. Sure, Josh, I agree with you that they are both committing, but one guy in our party has done both and we all sort of agree the PT looks to be more within striking distance for the team we've got.

NO! Do you? I mean the numbers alone are way worse for Luna....and the suffering factor is known to be very high in the Picketts. Anyone care to comment on this? The PT looks much easier and a better match for our party's fitness and experience level.

I got bumped off my flight home from the Outdoor Retailer show last summer. I got a $400 travel voucher for my troubles. The organization I represent at the show is a little bitty non-profit, so I used $231 of it to buy my ticket for the show next month. I have $168 remaining on the voucher, which needs to be used by the 17th of August. There is a long-standing tradition of people helping one another out with transpo and lodging at the show if they have to pay their own way, and in tradition of that, I would like to give the rest of the voucher to someone else who either works for a poor non-profit, or who is paying their own way to the show. The only catch is that I have to buy the plane ticket for you, but it's totally on the up and up, and your name will be on the plane ticket. There is no Delta office in Seattle so it involves a run down to the airport to pick up the ticket. Send me a PM if your needs meet this description. Just in case I get several requests, it would be nice if you could tell me why you are going to the show so I can give it to the person most in need of it. I'll let you buy me a beer in SLC or drive me to the airport or something just so you won't feel indebted to me or anything. Feel free to share this information with anyone you might know who is not part of this forum, I really want the rest of this voucher to get used to send another person to the show.
