  1. Twisp if you can bring your own money, Ellensburg if you're just regular folk. I think Wenatchee is going to get better in a few years.
  2. What do you mean someone already came up with a portable hard drive device that stores music? Ours is due to come out next spring!
  3. I have a little metal Voile shovel that I like. It came with a stubby handle though, and the stubby's kinda useless. I ended up buying a longer handle for mine.
  4. This presidency has been a nightmare from the beginning. At least now it seems like people are starting to notice.
  5. I would recommend anywhere but Crystal. Really, no one go to Crystal this weekend. I want it all to myself.
  6. I'm not buying that argument that LR costs more than monorail.
  7. Yeah, Jim, I have this idea that once we get the light rail started, that we will add onto it, just like every other city that's ever built a light rail system.
  8. It's pretty simple to pull the CD player, plug a wire in where you'd plug the multi-disc player, and have your ipod playing through the car stereo. Cell phones are far more evil than ipods ever dreamed of being.
  9. I thought it was a stupid idea, considering we approved and are already building another rapid transit system.

I too find the screaming baby to be really annoying. I would also like to ban cell phones in places I find tranquility because when I'm finding said tranquility, I don't care about your life. If you get me involved in your life via your cell phone conversation, I'm sure it raises my cholesterol level or somesuch. In any case, your cell phone use in places I don't want to see or hear it are really ANNOYING. I guess we need to have an initiative to iron this out since the legislators are probably trying to figure out the transit and tax base evisceration problems and may not have time to deal with my petty bullshit request.

I think banning smoking in bars (and the ridiculous 25' rule) is going to have the reverse effect for a while. I was in Toronto shortly after they did a similar smoking ban and people were smoking everywhere, including the former non-smoking sections of restaurants.
  12. What a strange thing to say about a 100% non-profit independent radio station.
  13. They are also extremely anti-union, and have successfully shot down grassroots union organizing drives at several of their stores. Pretty much every other grocery store in Seattle's unionized, so I go elsewhere. If I want fancy stuff that costs more than the sun, there's always Larry Market.
  14. You might like Roti on Lower Queen Anne. The lunch buffet is meh, but dinner is outSTANDING.
  15. Paseo. Go there often, one of my colleagues is the co-owner.
  16. Baguette Box just east of downtown rocks the dome. In Belltown, Mama's is quite tasty SoCal Mexican food. Than Brothers in 5 or so locations gets a . Pabla on Second and Pine has a deelishious Indian lunch buffet.
  17. Not necessarily pubbish, but you can't swing a cat over your head in Yakima without hitting another really good Mexican restaurant. Plus it provides an excellent excuse to swing a cat over your head. While you're at it, stop by the Food Pavilion you can see from the freeway. They make their own tortillas there....yuhhmmeee.
  18. First trip to Asia.
  19. A woman would not say any of these things, because they are all insults that equate being inferior to being female. Women don't insult that way, duUUUuh.
  20. I got the Tangerine flavor with glucosamine at the U District TJs. Thanks.
  21. Is that $8 for 36?
  22. This has been recommended to me as a good way to replace electrolytes without consuming a lot of sugar. Between my outdoor exploits and my work, which is physically demanding, I find myself needing more than water these days. Does anyone know of a good cheap source for the stuff? Costco? Perhaps a nutrition shop or maybe a place that has it in bulk? I'd prefer the kind with the glucosamine/chondroitin supplement, but will be happy with the regular kind if that's all I can find at a good price.
  23. I think in addition to charging for gas and insurance, it would be appropriate to charge for your time behind the wheel. We could say, maybe $20 an hour for wages, plus medical and retirement benefits, adding roughly 20%.
  24. Puget's a sexy beast. This thread is all about him, forsake all others.
  25. Wow, Puget, did you ever imagine they'd write a whole three page thread speculating on your real identity?
