  1. A woman would not say any of these things, because they are all insults that equate being inferior to being female. Women don't insult that way, duUUUuh.
  2. I got the Tangerine flavor with glucosamine at the U District TJs. Thanks.
  3. Is that $8 for 36?
  4. This has been recommended to me as a good way to replace electrolytes without consuming a lot of sugar. Between my outdoor exploits and my work, which is physically demanding, I find myself needing more than water these days. Does anyone know of a good cheap source for the stuff? Costco? Perhaps a nutrition shop or maybe a place that has it in bulk? I'd prefer the kind with the glucosamine/chondroitin supplement, but will be happy with the regular kind if that's all I can find at a good price.
  5. I think in addition to charging for gas and insurance, it would be appropriate to charge for your time behind the wheel. We could say, maybe $20 an hour for wages, plus medical and retirement benefits, adding roughly 20%.
  6. Puget's a sexy beast. This thread is all about him, forsake all others.
  7. Wow, Puget, did you ever imagine they'd write a whole three page thread speculating on your real identity?
  8. Puget is Puget, why worry about anything else?
  9. Certain salamander species are indicators of the health of a lake's biota, which is one of the reasons they enjoy some protections.
  10. I just met Carl a few months ago. We attended a press event together. Besides being a very talented photographer and skier, he was a hell of a nice guy. He will be missed.
  11. Spork: Jack of all trades, master of none.
  12. In the middle of the show, he stopped playing and let the audience ask questions. In order to keep things interesting for the rest of the audience, he asked that participants ask only one question, and that it be of the nature that if you only had ten minutes left to live, would you still ask the question? It's a good idea, but most of the questions asked were either multi-part questions (which he humorously declined to answer) or they were kind of dumb questions, which he answered quick and moved right on to the next one. He did try to make us think though!
  13. That trail comes and goes along the high route, even when there's no snow on the ground.
  14. I heard a song off of that yesterday on KEXP. It IS damn good, I might have to pick it up.
  15. I thought Puget was going to write a Fripp Report on last night's exploits....
  16. Didn't you get the memo, Josh? Liberals are not allowed to have a sense of humor. BTW the SC already has one unattractive woman on it, so the quota is filled. I say we get another Scalia instead.
  17. A woman's right to choose is not the popular idea it once was. The country has become a lot more conservative than it was in the 1970s. The Evangelicals are a huge voting base. It would be really unfortunate, but I think we could see Roe fall or be seriously curtailed here in the next decade or two.
  18. Probaly sarcasm. If not, Josh's opinion on the relvance of her looks is his own anyway.
  19. The thing about the appointee that makes me scratch my head is "why her"? The only thing that seems remarkable about her is that she thinks GWB is "a brilliant man." I'm nervous about her because she makes absolutely no sense as a Supreme Court nominee. Maybe it is true, the rumor that GWB has started drinking again.
  20. Too much of a centrist for me, plus this country is not ready to put women into that job, unfortunately.
  21. I made Chicken Marsala last night. Took about 20 minutes to put it together. Made enough so I can have leftovers tonight. Yum.
  22. Clicking the "Active Topics" button (or surfing back to where you clicked it) should not be part of flood control. I hate that.
  23. When: 7:00 PM September 27th Where: The Mountaineers 300 Third Avenue West Seattle, WA 98119 What: Jonathan Leidich will be presenting a Slide Show about the Geographic wonders of Patagonia`s most isolated area, the Aysen Region of Southern Chile. This modern day frontier has only been inhabited since the early 1900`s as the Argentine Gauchos found themselves with less open Pampa to roam. The nomadic life and development of estancias did not mix well and the gauchos crossed the previously thought, impassable mountains into Aysen. This last frontier of Patagonia is ecologically wealthy beyond belief with hydrolgic gifts that stem from the world`s 3rd largest Ice Field, South Americas 2nd largest lake, and Chile`s most Voluminous River, the Rio Baker. After 10 years of living in Aysen and developing the region`s foremost guiding service, Jonathan is here to present the newest of his exploits, The Aysen Glacier Trail, a nine day trek into the deepest wilderness on the eastern border of the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, a journey reminiscent of the gauchos first explorations.
  24. I'll be there, acting as arm candy at the side of the Pugetizer.
