  1. At least we're not measuring in stones.
  2. There's just not enough time in the week to check out all these places! Working two jobs can suck. I went to PMS to check out the Khamsin 62. Jim helped me out. I didn't like the fit initially, but I got used to it. I felt like there was no back support. There was this HUGE gap between my back and the pack. I had to arch as if reaching my toes to fill it. Jim flattened the frame out; it was better. I also had a hard time loading/balancing 40 lbs effectively. I'll try both the Bora and Khamsin again at Marmot. (Finally, a place that has both so I can test them out) Hopefully today, but not likely. Why do shops close so friggin early?!
  3. Caffeine increases cAMP levels and decreases the effectiveness of aquaporins.
  4. Coffee = good. Caffeine = bad. I drink coffee followed by ample amounts of water to counter the diuretic effects.
  5. Dunno yet. Hopefully climbing. I can see the crowds now.
  6. Ooh! What size? (I'm 54cm) How old?
  7. Fuck, mate! That's hardcore! I'm such a nice guy. I don't think I have any enemies.
  8. OMG! They're so polite!
  9. Not intended to be. It's intended to be LIGHTER. Never having bought a pack before, I'd like to get it right the first time. $260-350 is a lot of money to drop. Like boots, I hear a lot about the importance of a comfortable pack. Concurrently, I hear alot about carrying light. Hmm... What to do? The smallest capacity Bora I can find is the Bora 62 (REI), which is a women's pack. The Bellevue Marmot carries the men's Bora 65. I'll check it out.
  10. - Work - Checked weekend weather report... grumble... - Checked out the Arc'Teryx Khamsin 62 (not as comfy as Bora series) - Work
  11. All shit stinks, but REI's is less stinky. It's all relative.
  12. What the fark has this thread become??! Hahaha!

    How Policy Begins

    Pretty much.
  14. I second that. Who?
  15. I'm here at work. Just came back from a company breakfast. I'm listening to Triple J now, and planning a trip to PMS to check out the Arc'Teryx Khamsin 62.
  16. A mate and I are planning on hiking to Muir this weekend. No climbing. Planned on Sunday, but... The forecast does not look good.
  17. That wall is at least a 5.9.
  18. Fuckin word! Why the fuck is good weather always wasted on the weekdays?!
  19. Dude, there are two topics on this already. Not much traffic though. I'm surprised. I expected the threads to get at least two pages of replies.

    Cold Feet

    You got that right. Indeed!
  21. Too early if meeting at 5pm and Little Si is far. I get off at 8pm, so I'll probably get there around 9pm.

    RMI, is it any good?

I was hoping the people on this board would offer to help me out of the kindness of their hearts.

    Cold Feet

Maybe your boots are too tight. If you cut off the circulation to your toes, your feet will get cold.
  24. I saw this on the news and I fail to see how they were 'rescued'. Sounds like they descented after waiting it out. Like Rod said, because of the cell phone, the news stations were able to pick it up and report of their 'near-death' adventure. Talk about sensationalism. Regardless of how much danger they were truly in, it was still stupid to climb in such obvious bad weather.
  25. Gotta 2nd this one. I've got a pair of montrail something-er-other gore tex tennis shoes which I bought for approach shoes. I eventually found myself using them for more and more shit, including glacier slogs. Sneakers?!?
