I made strawberry rhubarb pie this weekend--after being inspired by this thread. Didn't turn out too well. Crust is good, but the filling doesn't taste or look like I expected it to.

Hopefully climbing Rainier. I imagine it'll be packed.

Thanks. I'll check those places out. I've been to Second Ascent before. They didn't have much when I went. I'll go again to see if they got some new used bikes in. But I don't consider $500 for a 10+ year old relic a deal. I'm sure it was state of the art and $2000+ back in the late 80s...

Perfect location: Southcentre, Tukwila. It has REI, everyone in the south end knows it, easy access, easy to find, hub of the south end (area between Tacoma and Seattle), and there is probably tonnes of lots open to purchase.

Congrats, mate. I'm looking at a bike too--used road bike. Damn these things are expensive. I'd rather save up for a good car.

What kind of climbing? Rock or mountain? There are several classes available for both. You can learn to rock climb at the local climbing gyms (Stone Gardens or Vertical World). REI also has classes. For mountaineering, you can try the Mountaineers, Alpine Ascent International, Raineer Mountaineering Inc, Washington Alpine Club, Mountain Madness, or many others. Let me warn you, if you want to get into mountaineering right now, most of the classes are closed for registration. RMI, Mountain Madness, and AAI have classes open in the summer for a large fee.

He had two 'mountaineers' attempt to summit the steps of the studio audience. They had full gear on, including ice axe and I think crampons. One was a white dude, another was an obvious Himalayan Sherpa guide wannabe. They didn't make it though. Rock slides (and distractions by the studio audience) prevented a summit. They had to be rescued by a helicopter. On his near death bed, 'Tell my wife I love her. But not nearly as much as I like to climb the steps of television studios...' Conan rocks!

I have a Korean friend who said that some Korean-Koreans considered Hosoonyi as good as (if not better than) some places in SK! Now that's an endorsement!

Kalbi's okay, but I like bulkogi better. Last time we had Korean BBQ, I ate myself silly. I was incapacitated for 2 hrs. I tried making bulkogi at home... Not good. And soju rocks. I wouldn't mind getting some sundubu jjigae...

Edmonds, of course. The only place in the entire state with good Korean food. (As judged by Korean-Americans) My mates and I are still trying to decide on Hosoonyi or this other joint (Secret Garden). Hosoonyi has better food, but it'll be packed on a Sat night. It'll be a long wait for a group of 10 people. Plus service at Hosoonyi sucks. Comparable prices. We've been waiting to go since last month. This is to celebrate finals being over.
