I am definitely torn between wanting to try that traverse in a day or take time and do some good adventure climbing. The first person I hooked up with on this site was Mr. Peru-East Butt Slut himself and our objective was to do the traverse in a day. We rolled into the parking lot around 11 downed a beer and up at 3am. At the time I had no clue as to what I was getting myself into other than we were going to do some peak bagging with techincal rock. Lucky for me we went up the wrong drainage and missed Stuart and Sherpa and end up in the Argonaut/Sherpa col still managed to some great climbing in on Argonaut, and some good scramblimg on Colchuck and Dragontail. There is some great alpine cragging pontential up there is you take your time. I think it was on Colchuck there was a beautiful white wall with a ton of steep crack climbing on it. Argonaut had some real nice 5.9 climbing on the West Ridge. Check out these Argonaut photos from that trip.

I can't believe I didn't tune into this thread earlier, damn good one. I found it really amusing all the railing on Doolittle on his experience at shows. Yeah I been to a few shows in my day and had my run in with the East Coast FSU crew, bunch of dicks in my opinion, at least the one I used run into, since all they really were there for was to beat the shit out of someone. That's not to say that I am one of those West Coast sorry I touched you kind of person. No I liked and still like to get into the fray. I think Cracked responses were so fucking stupid. His responses really sound like he has no experience with the hardcore scene. Then whoever that moron was that said something to fact that hardcore shows are angsted teens just trying to work out anger in a physical manner and that it isn't productive, doesn't have a clue. I remember being one of those teens back in the day and the calmness that I felt after a good thrashing. Basically still do the same thing, just in a different format, in the mountains climbing or riding bike. Thanks DFA for the avatar and Doolittle for your persistence.

I hate 38 because it is barely better than climbing in the gym. Climbing outside should be much better than that.

How about Lawn Darts, that is great game to play while drinking.

I went out Friday and Saturday on a road ride and mountain bike ride. Damn St. Eds is getting sick, some kids have been building some crazy hard stuff. Sunday I was up on Snow Creek wall doing a little alpine training. Trying to get my head on for moving fast in the mountains. Basically stopped at the end of my 70m rope and build a belay, needless to say some were hanging. Though I did manage to do Orbit and Outer Space both in 4 pitches each.

That's right brutha, I was gonna say sumthang along that line. to gettin' gettin' booty. Now a message from our sponsor, The King, The Bootyman himself, James Brown

Hmm, that's not me, but funny thing is they registered on my birthday. Weird.

I wouldn't go to the beach to burn that stuff, as you noted it will definitely draw atention. I would go up into the mountains someplace. Some white gas or gasoline will help with the harder to burn items. Add the gas to the fire using small paper cups thrown cup and all to the fire and pour the gas into the cup away from the fire.

That's a close call. Sometimes the scenery is much nicer in the gym than at x38.

Yes and no Matt. Some people may need a specific spot where they gain energy. Myself I am energized when my senses are heightened and I am in tune with my surroundings. Maybe for others it is sparking that bowl. I think, in my mind a power spot is some place where I gain energy, feel alive, and recharged.
-
I find my power place where ever I encounter nature in it's raw form. Where there are no human trail, no carins, no pavement, no antenas, no radio, nothing manmade. I love the feeling of letting my senses take over and escaping thought, the feel of warm rock, the smell of the ocean, the sight of a sunset, the sounds of wild animals, the taste of fresh blackberries. That's where I find my power. So far it has been in all sorts of locations across the US, Canada, and Mexico.

What's the big deal about 420?

I don't think it is about being alone. Some of my more memorable experiences soloing are in the Tetons with my friends. You know going out on a nice day with chalk bag, shoes, some food, water. What attracts me to soloing is the uninhibited movement. I really enjoy soloing and it doesn't bother me to carry on conversations with people on the crag. Though sometime they look at me like I am nuts, because I am "not completely focused", though I am. As for Justin's answer, how hard or how close to my limit, I would say in general two grades down from my leading level. With that said though, it really fluctuates some days you are on, some you are not. You gotta be able to know, just like when you are leading with a rope, some days you can push it and other days you are better not pushing it. In the end though whether you are driving to the crag, soloing or TRing, shit happens, keeping it from happening to you, you need to be able to assess yourself, the conditions, the weather, whatever. Still you can't be 100% sure, except for one thing, you will die someday, when, who knows.

Two Bells Taverns sounds cool with pool, 420 breaks, and beers. I thought we had moved beyond switching the location at the last minute. I agree it might be fun to hang out with some of the kiddies on the website, Zeke's the following week sounds good or we could go to Chuckie Cheese's, just kidding, ha, there I go again "kidding". Alright I'll stop.

WW1 definitely spanks me everytime I get on that shit there. Then we go do high alpine "scrambling" so you can fill your baby dipes, then cry and need a nap.

The new album rocks. Been listening to it almost everyday since I got it.

Naw beocth....that is why I was apoligizing, I thought you, womber and Ry ry were all wupset that I was dissin' your shit pile that you wlimb on. Hope the baby talk helps you read this message.
-
Cman you gotta good point. I guess my venting of the guide book format and that it is broken up into two overpriced books got the best of me. I do feel that WW1 is a decent wall that has a natural feel and is asthetically nice to climb at, but as for the rest of that shit up there it is almost more enjoyable going to the gym. Please note I the "almost" part. Oh Ryan, btw I don't really climb at Vantage, twice so far. So you and Rumr off. Sorry you guys I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to have an opinion.

I will never get it. What the hell is it with people camping out in a bathroom and reading? Bathrooms are small, I make them stinky crapping, so I am usually out of there as soon as I can get out. Also, I don't know about you, but myself personally find the other chairs in the house way more comfortable place to sit back and read.

Damn I am retarded sometimes. Well looks like if I make it up there it will only be for Sunday. That sucks, oh well.
