    Honesty, Part II

All the different swift boat stories reminds me of the Meg Ryan/Denzel Washington movie "Courage Under Fire"...good flick if you haven't seen it.
  7. you say to-MAY-toe I say to-MAH-toe you say pah-TAY-toe I say pah-TAH-toe ah let's call the whole thing off...
  8. I totally support the protestors in NYC and I wish I was there along side them. I miss the anti-war protests of last year and I marched in two - SF and Portland. At least you can't accuse them of apathy!
  9. y'all taking this shit waaaaaaay too seriously. Nothing better than a good old fashioned protest I say - don't really care what side yer on. That's the beauty of America!
  10. I saw on the tube last night that this particular player has suffered some great losses recently. His mother, sister and fiance died in a head-on collision last year and he lost his father this past summer.
  11. The Argentinian players are HOT!!! great game too. Bottom line: they outplayed the so-called US dream team just like the Lithuanians did. The final should be good.

    The Olympics Suck

I've enjoyed it too. The competition has been fantastic from all over the world. The US will dominate medals only because of the sheer size of their team which is probably greater than the population of some of the countries competing.
  14. Because I have a Kerry bumper sticker on my car, I was baited by a man with not one, but many pro-Bush bumper stickers on his rig. He said to me "You know why I'm voting for Bush? Because when I look in his eyes, I believe what he says" Man I love political debates. Keep em coming boys!
  15. lummox, you were always an insatiable reader... quickies: balzac and the little chinese seamstress the great gatsby just started: schindler's list

    F/ 911

Dan - F9/11 is a great movie for students. It gives them a good idea about how we've all been hoodwinked into war by the current administration. We took four teenagers and they thoroughly enjoyed it esp. the vapid remarks of one B. Spears. F9/11 is propaganda in the same way "Passion of Christ" is propaganda IMHO...and Gibson stands to make 10 times the profit.
  18. My son just turned 16. I think I am one of the "ripe" folks...
  19. I believe Renquist was actually nominated by Nixon in 1972. There was an interesting article in the NYTimes day before last. He's nearly 80 but shows no signs of slowing down and in fact hopes to beat the record of longest serving supreme court justice.
