Chicks don't dig desperation, yo. Or maybe midget chicks do?

"Dude, that guy totally put his stand mics in my airspace, brah. And what kind of tool uses those cheap-ass cables, anyway? Probably not even a tape in the deck."

Nuke Durkadurkistan! Fucking cocksuckers!
-
Not actually a bumpersticker (hopefully!), but, "Fight terror, ride a bike" is a goodie.

It's no more ridiculous than a present-day American decrying slavery or expansionist genocide. In fact, it's good that people can look at the past of their own nation and note that "whoah, we really fucked that up. Best not to repeat." Have a beer with fear!

pulling plastic surpasses real rock climbing in WA

Yeah, RuMR is quite a sight in one of those, 'specially if he skips the back wax. -
Climbing and modern frustrations
Dr_Flash_Amazing replied to lancegranite's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
Well, duh. Did you just learn this or something? -
"Hallelujah! It's rainin' pepperoni!"

Check the following LINK to a story from the BBC detailing the governor of London's reaction to the 7/17 bombings. A surprisingly levelheaded assessment of the situation, refreshingly free of calls for blood wrapped in nationalist bombast. Read and enjoy, compliments of Dr. Flash Amazing's Summer Reading Program.

Iain is unwilling or unable to break with his current chossy mistress, that majestic, ski-lift studded pile looming over Portland known as "The Mount Hood." Perhaps DFA will come sample some of this alleged Canadian granite when he becomes fed up enough with America and moves North. 'til then, it's plastic, yellow SmithMud , and Rubik's Cube basalt piles.

pulling plastic surpasses real rock climbing in WA
Dr_Flash_Amazing replied to shapp's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
Duh. Anyplace where it rains more often than not and people want to get their tuggin' fix, they're going to climb indoors. Not to mention, the convenience of the gym makes it possible to rack up indoor sesh hours after work or whenever, further upping climbing time on the plastique. It's a win-win situation, losers. -
Bring the ruckus, half-pint.

Really, though, if there ever was a time to be unpatriotic, this is it. These clowns are leaving us nothing to be proud of, nothing to show to citizens of other nations, to point at and say "look, here, this is what makes America great." What do we show them? A war on terror that has sparked terror around the world? An administration that operates a barely-concealed smear operation and glibly denies knowledge or complicity despite the evidence? Legislation that favors corporate good over that of its own citizens? Pulling the rug out from under the elderly, the young, and the middle class? What? The land of maple, moose, mounties, and Molson never looked so damn good.

For someone who can't even go on amusement park rides, you talk a pretty big game, hoss. From now on, you must be at least this tall to shit-talk DFA: ____ [ This tall ] _ _ _ [ RuMR ] _ _ _ [ Da ground ]

Chalk - you've got to be kidding me...
Dr_Flash_Amazing replied to JosephH's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
For a bunch of supposed hardcore types (too hard for bolts, into long-ass alpine approaches and bushwacking, sleep on portaledges and eat cold beanie-weanies for breakfast), you sure do get your nips in a tweak over something so trivial as chalk. Sounds like all this bold behavior is just a front to cover some pretty soft everyday insecurity. Toughen up, you nancy-ass sons-a-bitches! -
Fuck the flag. Burn Tennessee!
-
The upside here is that maybe Rove's downfall will drag the rest of the bastards with him. Burn, motherfuckers, burn!
-
The Rubber Room* *not actually in PDX, but the best resoler out there, hands down
-
Sadly, it's up to the FA how close the bolts should be. Your options are to either put up your own routes with widely-spaced bolts, to only climb routes with widely-spaced bolts, or to simply skip the clips you feel are unnecessary.

A new low in rock climbing
Dr_Flash_Amazing replied to TrogdortheBurninator's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
Who knows, maybe it's...fun? Considering how many of you retrads seem to think slacklining has anything to do with climbing, you've hardly a leg to stand on kvetching about dynoing, regardless of how fruity. -
If you head down, be sure to get java at Has Beans. Ridiculously silly name, but ridiculously good coffee!

Again, when you do, you'll know, and until you do, stop pretending to know or assuming that others don't.

Incoherence is a good refuge for you. I am only making the case that there are so many gradations of beta between "onsight" and "flash" that to worry over whether an ascent is one or the other is stupid. Of course hair cells of the vestibular sensory epithelium can be broadly divided into type I or type II but those are really just ends of a spectrum. And DFA is only making the case that the distinction between flash and onsight is pretty obvious and clear-cut. You sound like the typical trad wank who has a few 5.8s under his belt and thinks he understands shit about climbing routes without falling, and what stepping up to a piece of stone you've never climbed before and sending it entails. When you actually do this, it becomes quite obvious what constitutes beta and what does not. As for your assertions of incoherence, ickstay itay upay ouryay assay.

What's truly hilarious, though, is how many people complain constantly about REI, yet continue to shop there.

I believe I understand that you are espousing Marxism only as a tool for understanding societal class structure and not as an ideal in and of itself. Am I correct? If not, I'm sure you understand the violent hurdles that the attempted implementation of a communist system here in the USA would face from my side of the political spectrum.....and probably from the liberal side as well. For those who harbor such utopian dreams in our free country, I have a suggestion: Make no attempt to impose them on me. "Better dead than red" isn't just a redneck rant. Wait, isn't it "better dead than red...neck?"
