Give me a break, dude. Another way to feel good about themselves? There are plenty of good reasons to push for getting more and more of the giant SUVs off the road, and feeling good about oneself is not one of them. The reasons are numerous and obvious to anybody that wants to pay attention.

I too, have found this. I'm not sure if it could be a placebo effect, but I tend to belive not. On the other hand, I believe crap like echanacia, etc. is pure BS.

Some people dont like to accept that there are still plenty of things beyond the control of humanity and technology. Life (and the planet) have a way of equalizing things. Considering how interconnected the world is these days diseases don't stay in one place for long.

Bumpers of large SUVs no doubt.
-
Unfortunately he's not, I already asked him the same quesiton at one point.

You'd be hard pressed to find a car that's as big of a danger to other drivers as a suxpidition, slugburban, nadgrator, etc.

breakin' the law, breakin the law

This IS vandalism, Jim; which, I believe, is a crime in this state. I won't feel sorry for some sap who gets his ass kicked if caught. What gives you the right to ignore the law? This is pathetic. I think it's pathetic that every other vehicle in this city is some road hogging, gaz guzzling POS. Now, unfortunately, they are legal unlike stickering somebody's car. If somebody gets there ass kicked doing it, then, yeah, they were asking for it, but I still support those who do it.

Go out in the driveay and look at it...that's why they are willing to deal, my friend. It's narsty looking.

My favorite is those who further jack up expeditions and the like. My mom actually says in her motherly voice "I bet that man is compensating for a small penis."
-
Awesome, good work. Normally I dont condone screwing with people's property but I consider them putting me at risk by insisting to drive those huge POSs a bigger crime. Not to mention the destruction they do to the environment we all share.

Now then again, for the adrenaline junkies among us, there is nothing quite as fun as spinning, rolling or just generally crashing your SUV while driving up to the pass. Repeat after me...high center of gravity + snow = BAD

The caddislack ghettoslade is my favorite, esp. when white yuppie soccer mom's drive them. jeezus, get a fucking clue. The US automaker definition of luxury is simply more of everything. More ghetto leather, more ghetto fake wood, more ghetto chrome. Ugh...
-
LOL...well, back to the drawing board Ford. The fact remains that SUVs (esp. domestic models) don't have to be designed well at all. The yuppie masses by them anyway so it's not worth it to the manufacturers to improve worthless featuers like ride quality, handling, fuel effeciency.

Also, depending on your comfort level, you may decide to bet on a weather window in june. I've slept out in just a sleeping bag (no bivy, no tent) on rainer in August. If you get the weather, it's no problem. Now granted, I wouldn't do that without a damn good forecast or a backup plan.

In defense of the explorer (which I'm not a fan of) the new ones now feature IRS. The old ones (probably what you drove), like most current SUVs and trucks are based on a leaf spring rear, which is essentially unchanged since the 1940s. That's my favorite thing about SUVs. The manufactures are selling people 1940s and 1950s technology at modern prices.

Yes, these are great recommendations, if you enjoy getting friendly with your local dealership technician. In the yuppie town I grew up in land rovers and range rovers were quite popular. I never could figure out why. They were in the shop about 10x more often than any other vehicle acoording to every one of my friend's family's who had the displeasure of owning one.

DO what I did...buy a used one, with some pre-installed dents, add some climbing stickers and never wash it. a crack in the windshield also adds character

I Owned an outback for a while...great vehicle. Well, I figured I'd try. I'm an SUV hater so I at least have too put in my mandatory plug for a vehicle that is safer on the road, burns less gas, polutes less, and endangers others less. In all seriousness though, for my friends who do insist on going the SUV route, I've been most impressed with my friends' 4runner for an all around vehicle. It isn't large enough to be ridiculous, and at the same time it's big enough for most people. Less weight and shorter wheel base also means better off-road and snow capabilities than the typical amurican full size SUV. Unfortunately the new model 4runner looks like garbage.

You've defined right here the problem with SUVs. Unless you get one of the car best import models, the ride at 65 on the highway is crap. Now, compared to a suburban, you may consider it good, but I don't consider something that can't do a simple emergency lane change without rolling over a good ride. The europeans have this amazing comprise vehicle that is called, hmm, lemme think, oh yeah...a station wagon. But then again wagon's aren't cool and SUVs are. Anyway, my rambling point...have you checked out a wagon or some of the newer car/truck cross vehicles?

Yup, this faux debate pretty much sums it up. Bush and co's. tired cliches are getting old.

Could we find 12 cc.com women that we'd want to look at naked though? LOL. And, more importantly, would that be worth having to even think about *any* 12 cc.com men naked?
