Oh, but more important...sorry to hear about the knee. Anything strange feeling in the knees or shoulders is always scary. Take it easy on it and let it heal up.

Sounds like there is a lesson to be learned here...when in doubt, land on the stupid boarder in the landing zone, hoping he'll break some of the fall. Said another way: Cracking the boarder on the head with a ski is better than hurting your knee.

I drove up to BC this weekend, and judging by the snow on the trees, the baker area (mount vernon through border along I-5) seemed to get the most snow and the lowest down. THe level was much higher around everett (looking towards tevens pass) and also much higher up in BC it appeared. Around bellinngham, it looks like it got down around 1500 or 2000 feet though.

I was in BC this weekend and went in CMS for the first time. I was pretty disappointed. No good deals at all, except for a few pieces of women's clothing. I was really disappointed to see that arc'teryx adjusts their pricing for the home (canadian) market on their clothing, unlike on their packs. The packs are a great deal up there, cause I can get one for $200CDN, which would cost $200US. Basically a instant 35% off. Their clothing, however, has been ass-rape adjusted, so a nice shell is like $600CDN or some such crap. On the other hand, the lightweight powershield jacket I got at MEC for $155CDN is a great deal. An equivilent arc'teryx piece would be $250US or so.

Went to vancouver, BC w/ girlfriend. No climbing, but at least got some good deals at MEC.

I have some clog cams as well. I've never taken a leader fall on them, but I trust them, for what that is worth.

Agreed, this is why I think the bit of extra weight for free standing tents is worth it for alpine situations.

No, you are correct. And see my previous post. I call bullshit on the 7 feet of new snow in 24 hours regardless. Check the current weather and forecasts for CO right now. Scattered snow showers for the most part.

Hehe...I commented on this when somebody (was it you?) posted about it a while back. I call bullshit on it. Snow gets so unbelievably wind deposited in the rockies it's not even funny. I've been in areas there where telemetry and what not claims 2 feet of new snow and it's 6 inches, maybe. To make matters worse it all blows away the next day.

Head north for the best snow y'all. It seems this front is gonna be best in the north cascades, tapering off (and getting warmer) as you get further south.

See my post yesterday about the need for occasional violence and why pascifism doesn't work on this plaent. Einstien was certainly smarter than Ghengis and a good deal more evolved too. Unfortunately, Sadaam is not, and a lot of others like him aren't too. Until that changes, I'd rather kill him than let him kill me.
