this weekend I have to do 10 tons of yard work, but I wiull prolly climb the collums with the kids and go on a hike up "hill" pisgah if the weather is good

I am planning on being at Smith May 22 to camp and drink beer, climb and have an all arround good time... any one care to join???

If you like the gear over your shoulder you might like it... I still can't get used to that and tend to prefer to rack on my harness, but I don't climb that much multi pitch trad (ya like I followed 4 times MAYBE)

ME TOO and I want to have scabs and briuses to last a week or two so I can remember what I have done, or not done (fallen on repeatedly) depending on the weekend

from where i sit aiding is still climbing as a mater of fact i look foword to learning to aid one day

I read in one of John Long's books once that the only way to be a better climber is to put miles on the rock ( I love how he phrazes things ) so instead of heading to Washington to see the man himself I went to Smith to actualy CLIMB. I had SO much fun. I climbed a bunch of easy stuff, but I can feel my confidence building and a shift in how I look at leading. I was able to WORK on a lead instead of walking away from it because I couldn't climb it perfectly. I had a truely wonderful weekend and honestly fell in love with climbing again.

WOOOHOOO how about May 22? for a spring rope?? I hear a certin Canadian has a 3 day weekend that weekend and we may be able to convince him to sport climb
