acording to smith rock guide book a no fall lead is a red point, regaurdless of wether the draws (or gear) are pre-placed or not. I think that is pussy, but that is MY OPINION
-
no, no, pink redpint you have to climb the whoe shizzle and place all the gear or draws on you red point atempt. sure work on it a gillion times before hand, but then ya gotta take it all down and start fresh to get a rewdpoint IMHO on site is just that, ya walk up and climb up no falls no working no nothing just a clean climb. if you can't lead a climb from the ground up then whats the point of claiming anything more than you were on it? I don't lead clean, I fall and flail and french free and work the shit out of the thing, but I suck and I know it. if you have to have the gear pre placed go back to school, work the climb some more. practice practice practice.

ya better check yer facts there kido. there have been so many artists and musicians and actor and dnacers thew out history who have smoked. Yes I know it is unhelathy, and that is why I quit. I have kids and I want to be arround when they have kids. But do not let todays advertising sway you to believe something that isn't true. Drinking is not healthy for you either. and it can contribute to your demise. are we going to let advertising and tv campaings tell us what we think so that we can persicute our neighbors if they do not live like us?
-
maybe hunny but I smoked for 20 years, I started when I was 11 I have smoked the majority of my life. It will be a long time before I havenot smoked longer than I have smoked. and truely, I wish I would have never started. MAN it pisses me offf when my Dad is right about shit

o yeah, how could i forget disney! let's see.. ariel the mermaid (er, when she grows up a little that is) baloo from the jungle book the mushrooms in fantasia pooh, tigger, and ... what was the gopher's name? just "gopher" i think right?? man, that guy would crack me up to no end. overall i think modern disney sucks... brother bear looked kinda silly to me... but man were there some gems that came out of them folks over the years. I don't think you can count disney.. they jus steel stuff from other people. Tigger as created by Miline

I haven't smoked since december, I miss it I don't think about it all the time any more and it does smell bad when I am arround someone that smokes, but I miss it. I probably always will. it is wierd to be a smoker but to not smoke

Telle, thank you for proving me correct in what I was so poorly trying to say. and CBS, I have always been willing to stick my foot in my mouth arround here. I did so ALOT when I first started posting.and I continue to do so when I feel passionate about something.

Leo Fender wasn't much of a musician, nor a builder. Yet, he revolutionized the guitar. Sometimes it takes somebody out of the loop and removed from the trenches of the paradigm to lend a fresh perspective and offer up creative solutions. he wans't much of a musician? or he didn't play at all, had never seen a guitare? there is a diference here. the fender guy wasn't sitting arround his living room bitching about what other people were or were not doing. He had an idea and made it happen. that is a posative reaction. If someone here has a solution to the issue we are discussing I hope the run for office and sove the whole thing. Truely I do.

I think correct me if I am wrong, that we have ambasadors and poloticians that have spent their entire careers travceling all over the whole world. they talk out of their asses and so do you and so do I. And you can sure have a good time. but don't sit in your living room with your joe shmo job and think tjhat you have any real understanding as to any situation other than yours and when your morgatge is due. You can imagine, you can be empathetic to a situation. but you never truely KNOW until you have had an experience. Yes I realize I am not the most logical person in the world and telle_nut or someone else could make the point I am so sloppily trying to make, much better than I am. look at it this way, how would you like some one who have never climbed telling you how you should climb?
-
I take that to mean he will do his job to the utmost of his ability. you are wrong. everyone is capable of killing given the correct circumstances. I don't think that you or anyone else has the right to speak to a situation so far r4emoved from it. You must go there and speak to the people and resurch the reality of the situation THERE before you can truely understand. so sure if you have been there 6 months working on reconstructiuon I would love to hear your opionons and thopughts on what you have found there and who you have met, and how people there have treated you.
-
fortunatly I am not talking out of my ass. you are. I have read some about what telle nut has to say when he is not emotionaly reacting to his friends being killed. yes he is somewhat extreame and sounds more so on line. keep in mind that you are only reading a fraction of this persons thoughts. I have often wanted to kill some what that has done me harm. yet I never have

Then how about mandatory military service for all able-bodied citizens, like in Isreal? Would you leave the kids behind and fight for your freedom? Or is it more palatable to stay home and pay taxes? And paid guns thrive on danger. That's why they do it. Why is that so fucking funny? US troops, though paid, are not in the same catagory. Most were duped into joining up, thinking that they'd get to drive tanks and shoot guns and other cool stuff, and get some money and get college paid for, and now they end up eating sand and getting shot at and that is most certainly not part of the schpeel that the recruiter gave them. Those poor saps want to go home. Mercs are different. They get hard at the thought of the lawlessness over there. there is no way in hell I want to be there. do you? if you do you should go. as to the rest of what you said, I would like to know what you are basing your personality profile on. I would also like to point out that as a cliber it is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black comming from you. I am not saying you are "wrong" persay. I just know that you are not exactly right either. Most of the cops, firemen and military men that I have met threw out my life have been somewhat adrenalin junkies, I am sure that is why I feel so at home in the company of climbers. Most of thease men (friends of my dads) that I have grown up arround all have extream hobbies of some sort. thease men all live life hard and put their lives at risk because they choose to, because they feel driven to do so or because they feel it is their calling. from my experience they live hard and love thier families well because they understand the imidiacy of LIFE. so you can look at it how you want and I will see it how I do.

damn funny you two
-
IMO it is because they government can not get enough people to JOIN the military.I wouldn't be able to speak to the exact figure that anyone is making, but it is a pitance compared to what they should make. And along with this I will also say that teachers make far less than they should, police officers etc...I think as a country our priorities are FUCKED up.

check the avitare photo I LOVE GIR

I call BS. It's the heavy coin that lures these dudes over there. If it weren't, they'd volunteer. They're in it for the guns and the money, and for the taste of living on the edge that they got on time, and are still looking for. They're addicted to the danger. that is the fucking funniest thing I have read all day.

I appreciate tele_nut's point of view being in the middle of things, particularly since he turned down his attitude somewhat, but the idea that everyone else should "STFU" because they aren't there is rediculous. people can talk out their ass all they want. but quoting NPR as a reliable resorce for factual information is stupid. I was sugesting that people who want TRUTH ought to go find it their own damn selves or realize that any information they have is filtered threw a several other sorces and people.

I don't know what cbs was talking about either. 2 was okay, but 1 was funnier. worth watching IMO
