  1. ...and they are?
  2. Ketch: Texas is a big state. It really depends on where you will be compared to what's nearby and not so nearby. Thinker was recently seeking beta for Oklahoma. I gave him some info as per rock climbing in that state (see this thread). If you'll be close to the Oklahoma border, those areas may be an option. Else, in Texas itself, there is some rock climbing. I'm not sure all where. You could check the destinations listed on this page. Enchanted Rock is sort of west of Austin. The rock is good for rock climbing but I don't think any of it is steep enough for it. I've been there. It's an interesting granitic dome. Hope that helps.

Just wait 'till April 2020. All the potheads will have a whole month to celebrate then.
  4. You missed me too. Don't cry Squiddy Squid Squid. Don't cry. There there.
  5. Yeah, I think I'd want them to do a "rolling get the hell outta my way!"
  6. Jay, if you had simply linked (image sourced) my photo I wouldn't have minded. However, this is not what you did. What you did was save my image to your computer, annotate it for your own purposes (doctor/alter my photo), then resubmit. I wouldn't even mind you doing that as long as you told me you were going to do so. Plus, you used the words poached as if to admit you were doing something a little illicit. I guess you took the chance that the owner (me) would not have noticed. But, as you know, I'm active on this site, so you might have known I was going to see it. If everyone did what you did, it wouldn't be a very fair world to those who've made the initial effort (to get to the location to take the photo, develop the photo, scan the photo, clean the image, upload the image, etc.). Now you know how I feel about it. If you want to image source one of my photos, that's fine (unless you're going to be using it for monetary gain...like on a business-oriented site). If you want to alter it in any way first, you have to ask my permission. The fact that it is on summitpost makes no difference. I still own the copyright to the image (whether explicitly expressed on the image or not).
  7. You know the rule: don't run with scissors So what could this woman do about it?
  8. Enjoying a vibrant sunset from Little Jack (next to Jack Mountain) was a special time and place for me. We had ample time in excellent temperatures to discuss the meaning of life and other philosophical points while sitting there taking in the awe of the N. Cascades.
  9. Damn! Must have been that "Save Magnuson Park" contingent. The act of arson was probably instigated by its leader. I suppose in a pinch we might be able to erect a large tarp tent if anyone has one, but, I agree: Greenlake or a back up location would be better.
  10. Stefan has done the Red up by Spada. It is high on my ticklist. I know Jim Nelson and Co. went to Pioneer Ridge last summer. True, though. Those are two seldom-tagged peaks/areas.
  11. CBS said, "Although in Bush's case there are so many others who can die for him." Uh, doesn't Osama get others to do the dying for him too.
  12. See, you were probably taking a toke when you should have been typing the post. You know how the saying goes: you toke, you lose.
  13. Hey, guess what time it is right NOW. I'll give you one guess.
  14. Nein, du schwein! Take that,
  15. My God, how long have you had that boot growing out of your ass? Gives new meaning to the phrase "I'm gonna stick my boot in your ass."
  16. Stud! I'm jealous.
  17. Alpine K said: "OMFG if you go on like this at Pub Club you'll either make people or want to you." To which Paul Klenke replies: "Whatever."
  18. I find it funny when people who know nothing about the scope of the Cascades and all the peaks therein can only come up with (notable) peaks listed in Beckey's guides. If you want to refine the scope of the question to include only those peaks, then peaks such as Agnes would be a good choice. The question was more broad than that, though. Apart from the peaks (unnamed but still peaks) I mentioned before as having possibly never been climbed, I think you'll find that the least tagged summits in the Cascades are ones NOT mentioned in Beckey (or are peaks that are not significant AND are in the middle of nowhere). Essentially, the question is unanswerable. Another quantitative question that I have often pondered is: What is the maximum radius circle you could draw on a map in the state that would encompass an area of ground that no man has ever set foot in? Would it be a quarter-mile? An eighth-mile? A sixteenth of a mile? Hmmmm? Another unanswerable question.
  19. Save yourself the trip, Laura. The Zeke's (it's actually spelled Zeek's at that location) at 2108 NE 65th does not have a deck. In fact, it's a pretty small venue. I don't know if it would be a good location for a PC.
  20. You can call the Cle Elum Ranger Station at (509) 674-4411 to get info on the Teanaway River Road.
  21. for the trip report for poaching my photo off of summitpost without asking me or even crediting me. Bad show! Bad show!

That sucks the link is broken. Some hilarious Bubb Rubb talk. The originating link. The normal Soundboard link seems to be broken. Dat's only in da mornin' Try this Or this Or this compilation Or this one Hope these work. I'm on my dad's new computer right now. It doesn't have a soundcard installed + it's a slow connex, so I'm not sure if these are the right links.
