  1. No no, not the north bend outlet mall!!! I promise to behave. I promise. [sob sob, sniffle sniffle]
  2. I think you'll find Fred B. has not climbed any of the least-tagged summits in the Cascades that bear mentioning here. Fred wouldn't concern himself with such arcane matters. Fred's all about the obscure...outside of Washington...now. Tru, Dru, the east "peak" of SE Mox has not been climbed but it's hard to call that a "summit" in the manner intended on this thread (IMO). I know Stefan has climbed the Skykomish Bear Mountain. I know Roper has climbed Isolation and Crowder (heck, probably even Bear). Here are some pics showing Isolation Peak: from Primus Peak I from Primus Peak II from Klawatti Peak And here is one showing Mt. Crowder (from Mt. Baker). There are some real peaks (ridge highpoints with >400 ft of prominence) in the Cascades that may have never been tagged--peaks that only Stefan, myself (and probably Roper) may know about. We will not be divulging any info to you yahoos.

    Dark Peak?

Blake and Jake and JoshKake: There are some shots on summitpost that have Dark Peak in them but I don't have a single shot of Dark specifically. The peak is not really that prominent (only 264 feet). It is always overmastered by nearby Bonanza. (I also have yet to climb Dark.) Some pics with Dark featured in them: The view NNW from Bonanza's summit Dark Peak and Bonanza Peak from the west (from Mt. Pugh) Also barely visible in this shot from the NNE (from Tower Mountain)
  4. The problem with Lummox's Buxom pixum is that I keep wanting the video to show her face but it don't. I wanna see if she's beautiful or maybe uglier than steaksauce.
  5. This pic kind of shows the run for Mt. Hardy (and where you'd park). Swamp Creek is sort of in a canyon when it nears the freeway. If you happen to still be on its north side when returning to the road, you'll find yourself in some steep sidehill forested terrain. Crossing to the south side before proceeding to the highway would be better.

Matt was saying last night this site has a 5th Grader's mentality. I beg to differ. I think it's 3rd Grade.
  7. Hmmm, #118 & #177 are the same thing. An example of #32 & #162 (and the new #251 "getting your frustrations out"):
  8. So, foraker, give us your expert analysis on the issues faced for putting a tunnel through the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. If anyone would know, seems like it would be you.
  9. Yes, rather, I think it was jolly good. Gordon Bennett! It was a smashing good time for all that were up there that weekend. I put up peak pages on summitpost for Primus and Klawatti peaks. I haven't uploaded all the photos quite yet. If I get a chance this afternoon, I suggest you check back later.
  10. "I like seeing the dudes with the little chalk purses!"
  11. It's a spreading center--a "trench" in the middle with raised lateral ridges on either side + transverse fault ridges (perpendicular to the trench).
  12. The Mid-Atlantic Trench is an interesting problem indeed. Seems to me the tunnel couldn't be fully under the ocean bed for all segments. The trench is pretty deep. Heh heh, maybe we could put windows in the tunnel when passing over the trench: "Now, if you look to your left you may just be able to see the glow of lava deep down in the murk." "Oooooh."
  13. I agree it would be nice to have a bulk form (to upload as many photos as you want in one full swoop) but CBS is right. There could be abuse of this in so much that, if it's made too easy, people will upload all sorts of useless non-germane material (not that this hasn't stopped people before). Gallery pics can be deleted by Mods are Admins if they're not warranted.
  14. Nah, Yngve and I called it quits. I just couldn't stand him hogging the bar stools all the time. But we're still slaphappy
  15. Karst in Croatia: Stap. In particular, here's a great example photo. Sourced:
  16. Great thread, snugtop! Uncle Tricky definitely gets my real vote for the best trip reporter. Here you go Ken: here's another great one of his: S(h)itting in the Dark.
  17. "'Back in the day,' I undertook my first lead ever on a 5.6 overhang in the Gunks and I fell off it." Well, you're still around, so I'm guessing the hemp rope didn't break.
  18. Dru, 5000 posts. Some of my nominations: Best Avatar image (for the guys): either Lummox's or Harpell's one of the girl in white showing her butt. Best Photoshop job (and former avatar image) has got to be Thinker's mug before he got plastic surgery: I'm with you, snugtop, on the most annoying thread nomination. Although, if it is so annoying, how come I see you post into it? Hmmm? Best Thread: one of my faves was the Shitlist Thread started by Doolittle, I mean Necromonicon, about eight months ago. Others will no doubt go with the old standby of Muir on Saturday Best Trip Report: why, any of mine, of course. Best Troll: Amber or any reincarnation thereof. Where's trask when you need him? Best Picture: the one of someone climbing in Leavenworth that got taken down because of lude commentary.
  19. Josh, maybe you were being facetious, but Brian's picture he says is of Eldorado and a bunch of others IS actually of the Snowfield Group. Eldo is not visible at all. He was probably fooled by Snowfield, which does look like Eldo from this angle. It's a great picture nonetheless. L to R: Colonial, Pyramid, Pinnacle, Paul Bunyans Stump, Snowfield, and The Needle.
  20. The 2nd picture is one of the biggest reasons why I want to visit a place like Vietnam, which has a lot of mountain features like that.
  21. "skinless skinning." Oh, the horrors! Nice job. Keep it up and you'll have nowhere else to go in the Cascades by the end of Spring.
  22. Holy shit on a ten-foot stick, look who it is!!!!!
  23. Fairly recent photo of TC's here.
  24. I have no information for you Matt, but I would like to point out the cool little Hot Wheels cars at right. Do I see snugtop's snugtop? I know I see the outlaw's Outback.
