ames is closed. but i'd be happy to go climb it despite that if you want to come give me a belay. you're likely to not make it here if you have to drive over red pass, though - it's closed due to extreme winter driving conditions. woohoo! and anyway, i'm pretty tired from skiing the 15+" of NEW powder we have inbounds here today.

new year's day was my worst ski day this season ... cause i didn't even get to ski!

more ice. more aid. and lots more trad. i want to be way more aggressive with my leads. and i plan to get some medical training. oh, yeah; and more backcountry everything. i need to get back into the mountains some in the summer!

okay; i think i was gettin' it today. it felt almost like i was surfing on my back leg, with my weight pretty far back (to keep my tips up ... and to keep from face planting over my tips). but man is it hard work! i think i need to be more comfortable with skiing faster in powder, too. it also helped that they're doing a tele/at demo here today and i got to take out some fatties!

got 12" since last midnight ... and it's STILL growing - er, snowing! not sure i can handle much more at once, though.

i ain't a snow snob - really. to me, EVERY day is a good day to ski ... no matter what mountain i happen to be at! and i actually do like skiing in slush. slush is fun. but so is fluffy pow. i ski on rocks, too. sometimes it's really fun! nothing a little tune-up won't cure ...

methinks you exaggerate. even with a snorkel i couldn't ski in 7 feet of pow.

i find glasgowkiss' personality rather refreshing. east-coast-like. a lot of climbers seem to have issues with commitment and it really is annoying to make climbing plans based on someone saying they're going to climb with you only to have them ditch out on you a day or two beforehand ... leaving you hard-pressed to find a replacement and often times in the lurch. wankers indeed!

ha, ha ... definitely not a "natzi" then since i get to enjoy it every day. dammit; i gotta learn to tele in pow, though!

yeah, the living situation here is pretty ideal. when there's enough snow i can ski all the way to the front door of my apartment building. and all that separates me from where i live and where i work is a 4-minute "chondola" ride. or an even shorter ski ... but it's a little too dark (and cold) to do that by the time i get off of work. and no, i don't sling drinks; i look at paper and move numbers around on excel spreadsheets. don't know that guy you mentioned but i'll try to remember to tell him hi for ya if i happen to run into him one of these days. hoping for another 10" tonight ...
