  1. sweet, dru. we need more v1's and v2's out there!
  2. the checks don't come until spring usually but the certificates are out already. i got $1.38 to spend!
  3. yeah, we had another 23 cm waiting for us this morning and some avy in ophir had to go and knock out our power. guess there is such a thing as too much snow! i went back inside, traded out my skis, skinned up one run, and by then most of the lifts were operating. no worries!
  4. damn, wirlwind ... you are SOOOO charlie brown!!! so lighten up, dude; 'cause we all love you despite yourself!
  5. wind? what wind? the snow we got and are still getting is actually pretty wet for here. i almost feel like i'm back in the northwest ... spring skiing - yummers!
  6. and don't forget to wear your edible panties!
  7. i am most definitely a masochist! that was so SWEET!!
  8. i don't have a picture of mine! :-(
  9. whoa. weird!!!
  10. oh, and did i tell you it is STILL snowing??? (about damned time, we had a couple of weeks with NOTHING new and that was seriously suck ... unless you like bumps! ) sorry; i don't have a couch. (but i got a floor. c'mon down!)
  11. touching. thanks for sharing that with us.
  12. i don't think i've ever done it or would. sounds like it could be a mess, but if it works for you who's to judge? if it's a straight-up route i probably wouldn't need any slings anyway - gotta love the dmm's for that!
  13. we had another 13cm waiting for us this morning. 54cm of pow + new fat skis = today was definitely in my top 5 of the season!!!
  14. wtf? i did some looking around ... go here for the altitude info: http://www.ismmed.org/mmic_nav.htm
  15. sounds like good times. have fun!
  16. erock turned me onto some kind of boat glop. i can't remember what is was called, though. e-rock???
  17. hmm ... is someone erasing my posts? i could swear i already told y'all we had 41cm's of fresh pow this morning!!! and it snowed all day ... and it's STILL snowing.
  18. thanks, rumr - i was pretty much thinking the same thing!
  19. that was fun!!!
  20. "it"???
  21. just to clarify - with the clipfix you do set them for one ski, but you *can* change the length (by adjusting the placement of the shovel loop); it's just not a super-easy, quick-fix deal like with the g3's.
  22. so when you ask a guy what's on his mind and he says nothing ... he doesn't really mean nothing, does he?
  23. i have the clipfix for my tele set-up, but i just bought an AT setup for which i have ordered a pair of g3's. i'm anxious to see which i prefer, but i think i'll be happy with both. the g3's do seem to have the advantage, though, of being much easier to adjust length-wise. the clipfix can be tricky to get the tension just right so that the clip doesn't become unclipped while you're skinning around. not that it's anything more than a minor annoyance, but anyway.
  24. you disagree ... but then you say they exist. i said there is ow/chimneys - which means both ow *and* chimneys; not "offwidth chimneys" ... although you could argue that chimneys *are* offwidth if you really wanted to do so. whatever. some people can cruise them; some can't. i know people who went for it and had to make an unplanned bivy en route because it was harder than they thought it would be. for a one-day climb i'd think you'd want to be solid on the grades of the styles you'll encounter. if you can free most of that stuff you'll save a lot of time. here's a tr for ya: some guy's tr on the internet. sounds like good times!!!
