i've got an old desktop. i'm going to get a new laptop eventually but in the meantime i want to store what's on my desktop onto cd's - without having to buy a cd-r drive for my old computer. i don't want my old hard drive in my new computer! i also don't want to transfer all of my old shit onto a new computer; i just want it stored so i can access it when i want it. thanks for all the suggestions. i'll figure something out ...

thanks, dru. do you know how many diskettes i'd need to store all of that information??? not to mention it'd be all broken up and very disorganized! scott, i've set up slave drives before, but not between two different computers. what would i need to hook the two up to do that?

ask three different locals about bv access and you'll get three different answers. some are saying it's still a poach and you should go on the weekend when the watchman is off duty. i personally don't know what the official status is right now and i'm not entirely sure how to find out ... but people are definitely climbing bv and i haven't heard of anybody getting in trouble.

that's grivel's "double spring". i use leashless tools and although i have yet to drop one, i use the double spring when doing multi-pitch routes - just in case. (it would suck to be up there with just one tool!)
