Hayshaker, Well put as others have said. I have been both rescued and a rescuer. What comes around goes around. TTT To those that risk themselves (with training) to rescue others, you:

I did talk to the park about this awhile back and they are trying to open it again. Thanks for bringing this back to the top. The reason I was told it closed was liability, but I want it open as I live 10 min from it. Time to send some $. TTT

You tagged a 4 point with the Vanagan? Hope not too much damage. No fair using something without a deer whistle. TTT Sometimes zoos look for deer road kill for food.

I may not be able to go to Denali this year, but hey, bikers out there maybe accompany Erden on parts of the ride. I am going to try, and it could be fun if nothing else.

Sounds like fun. BTW there are many more routes on Rainier other than the slogdog routes. -
Well I just got back from Sweden, and we had a small pubclub in Stockholm. It occured at a Irish pub called The Loft . We met up with Swedish Chef and Henrik the Lurker, and I was with my Fiance'. We had a blast and talked about everything from politics to current issues and oh yes, climbing. There were no brawls or outside riots over fee pay issues. It was great to talk to Swedish posters from CC.com about the board, and many questions were answered, except the one "who is Trask?" and NO Swedish Chef doesnt post as Sexual Chocolate. We all talked for a long time and time drifted into the weekday night. The dark beer flowed and good stories were told, like the Muir on Saturday, a Swedish hit. Absent were: Dreaming Tree, Andreas and Anders; who we met on Kebnekiase. Uncle Trickys local tribalism was hailed as a common thread of all those who climb around the world as being all part of the tribe, and a international language is spoken by those who share the passion of climbing. BTW, they dont have the snafflehound problem in Sweden. TTT Pics soon to follow once I figure out how to attach them.

Dru, Working overtime? Here in the US you dont count overtime until after 11pm now that Homeland security is going into place. TTT

I am interested in annual passes increases either to enter the park or climb. I own the annual pass to climb and they really are fair to those that have multiple visits to the park compared to one time visitors. I can understand the rate increase after last year being set into motion, even if it doesnt cover rescue costs, I dont remember when or how much the last increase was. TTT

Fair, Dont be fooled by the press. These are extremes, and thus news worthy. Please dont be nieve and believe that these are the only ones involved in one form of degree or another. I am a fiscal conservative who sees America selling out to big money at the price of the whole nation. Find the facts before you jump. TTT

There will be less crumbs falling from the riches table if you get stuck paying for the taxes, that they so think are unfair. Dont fall in the trap of defending those that say it is unfair, you should really question why they say this. Being involved with the rich this is a business decision, not a personal one. I do agree with you on that you should never give up, that is not the American way, just dont defend those that want to pillage what you have. TTT
