Dru, Working overtime? Here in the US you dont count overtime until after 11pm now that Homeland security is going into place. TTT

I am interested in annual passes increases either to enter the park or climb. I own the annual pass to climb and they really are fair to those that have multiple visits to the park compared to one time visitors. I can understand the rate increase after last year being set into motion, even if it doesnt cover rescue costs, I dont remember when or how much the last increase was. TTT

Thanks Dan, nice to hear of the conditions are in shape. This weekend would be cool with a nice weather window, but I will be in Europe. TTT

Fair, Dont be fooled by the press. These are extremes, and thus news worthy. Please dont be nieve and believe that these are the only ones involved in one form of degree or another. I am a fiscal conservative who sees America selling out to big money at the price of the whole nation. Find the facts before you jump. TTT

There will be less crumbs falling from the riches table if you get stuck paying for the taxes, that they so think are unfair. Dont fall in the trap of defending those that say it is unfair, you should really question why they say this. Being involved with the rich this is a business decision, not a personal one. I do agree with you on that you should never give up, that is not the American way, just dont defend those that want to pillage what you have. TTT

Fairweather, That is a good question. I dont know as of now but I think it is in the negotiation phrase. I looked at Matts question as a general one, so touche on the point of it being more specific. I do like a good public debate on taxes, so thanks for jumping in. One thing I did notice is that your point becomes lost when attacking a person or using demagoguery to rationalize the stance, I'm not saying your the only one but it is tough to get past this. I am surprised that a lot of people will argue, dont tax them, when they do not examine the other side of the coin, which would be like saying:"tax us more, not them" and I do believe that there is waste in government, but there is also waste in the private sector. One difference is the private sector is looking for profit and government cant, and different rules apply. TTT TTT, Alpine K has called me a "Jesus Freak"(not sure why), a "Mother Fucker" and once threatened to rob my house. Forgive me if I don't feel compelled to grant him a civil debate.[/QB] All I can say if you hear a dump truck in the dead of night that smells like popcorn racing towards your house you will know what sort of business AlpineK is in soon, run for the hills! Just kidding, not calling AlpineK a bash and rob. I was referring to Matt, I dont think that he is arrogant at all. Just want to point out that the rich will try to bribe the masses to speak for them, while the masses end up getting it in the shorts in the end. TTT

What is wrong with our people that we are so unwilling to pay taxes that we'd rather close parks? I just don't get it... Mercer Island is one of the wealthiest per capita places in the nation! It is THE wealthiest spot in the state. How DARE you whine about the rest of the citizens of Washington not wanting to pay "their share" in license tabs for a park on (your?) Mercer Island. Matt, you may just take the cake as the biggest hypocrite on Cascade Climber. What arrogance! Did you know that King County shifted the charter over to the city of Mercer Island? The gross outpay of the park is going to increase due to the Island having "higher standards than the county". That is an example of how taxes really do increase. Do some more fact finding before you make a point. If the city of Mercer Island plans to tax the citizens at an increased rate, how do you justify your stand? I agree with the audit thing, that is what keeps us accountants in business... I do really roar outloud at those who argue how unfair the tax system is when they suggest moving the tax burden from the rich to the middle class. To some it sounds like "tax us more, its not fair that those being taxed can afford it" Maybe the rich are able to do their thing due to the freedoms that the US has provided at a price?

The question is do you use the truck for utility or that you just drive a big truck for???? Its all good if you live on a farm or use it for a business. Again, to press another point, does a A4 get worse mileage than a big truck being used pointlessly? I say save the parks. TTT

I think that government shouldnt be ruled out of doing this, it is just they should take care of a hiarchy of needs. No problem with working Joe who wants to take his son to games but why pay $6 a beer and $20 to park? All I am saying is government is in bed with big business on this one when they should be working on roads, parks or whatever. I know that it should all work out but it is a matter of priorities.
-
An A4 gets much better gas mileage than a truck or SUV, but if you use the truck than you are not part of the problem.

Hey JKassidy, I probably have played more football than most. All I am saying is Government should stick to the doing what government is supposed to do, like build roads, work on the justice system, manage sewer, and work on the unprofitable infrastructure, not building state of the art stadiums for anyone, especially over paid steriod poppers and owners. I gave up caring about big business sports after I saw the spirit of the game is lost in a boardroom. I say play on but not at the expense of taxpayers, thats all. TTT
-
But the taxsprayers just built a whole new stadium for them. Talk about government doing all the wrong things with taxpayers money.

One more step to a state income tax. You pay one way or another.....
